I need some help /ck/
I have almost $250 in amazon gift cards and I need to buy some good kitchen equipment. The only thing I know I want to get are silicone baking mats.
What would you guys recommend/ what is something you've been thinking of getting for your kitchen?

Last thing I got was an Instant Pot lookalike.
-Maybe an Airfryer, some cool knifes, Blender.

Those are awesome, but doesn't it seem like overkill for what I'm assuming is your home kitchen?

buy a good skillet, sauce pan, knife and cutting board, and that's like 90% of what you need to cook

a food processor with all the slicing, shredding blades

I have the essentials, this is more for non-essentials/things that are nice to have.
A good wood block cutting board is on my list, but I'll wait until I move out to get one so I can avoid my roommate ruining it.
I've been thinking about a food processor, but I'm not sure if I would get too much use out of it.

I might not either but like you I have most of what I really need. the only other thing besides a charcoal grill would be a digital thermometer or a analog turn type timer.

You have given me a good idea, a candy thermometer would be useful for deep-frying and stuff.
I'm thinking of just biting the bullet and buying it, just not sure if it's the most prudent choice

my ma had one that was digital and it also had the different candy stages on it.
I was never able to see the instruction sheet. but it was hard to use. very confusing without the instructions

This is the leading candidate.
It was americas test kitchen's highest rated.
For the rest of the money I'm thinking the baking mats and candy thermometer.
Anything else to add to the list?

does a quisinart at leas come with a variety of attachments or just the one standard blade?

I think they make them with a slicer and shredder blade.
the last restaurant I was at didn't even go for robotcoupe but I think I remember the other blades for the quisenart, but they weren't used and were always in one of the utensil tubs

Make sure the pots and pans are oven safe. There's no reason to buy dinky plastic pots and pans that are only good on the stove top. It wouldn't hurt to have non stick and traditional metal (which are best for making gravies and sauces imho.)

•Cheese-making

•Recipe discovery (e.g., combinations with casein + whey; Amazon technically has MyProtein, but it's way over-priced there)

Cacao

Stevia (https://www.amazon.com/CCnatrure-Organic-Extract-Sweetener-Substitute/dp/B07MB8HW1R))

•Health
L-cysteine, vitamin C (for grams / day), 5-HTP, L-DOPA, Sangre de Grado, astaxanthin, and flaxseed oil

•Coffee-making
A strainer is about the only qualifier here … cold-brewing via suspension; warm pour-overs / soaking

… Percolation is of interest.

A lot of fundamental items (creamer, protein, etc.) are better (cheaper) locally or on specific sites, but the niche and utility items, and supplements, are often great on there. What's posted in this response is a lot of "feeling great" and exploratory options.
