I kinda wanted to rant about my parent's awful habits in the kitchen. Like when my mother recently made perfect Frikadellen (something like a small fried meat loaf) but thought they were burnt, even though they were just browned and crispy the way you would usually want to have them. But she thought she ruined them by not making them a soggy mess.

I sterilize my kitchen appliances, sink and counters every weekend with 99.9% alcohol. Sorry if you guys have disgusting kitchens.

So what, your dishes on day 5-6 just don't get as clean as those on day 1-2? What's the point of sterilizing if you don't do it daily

Does anyone here add anything other than salt to the pasta water?
I usually add salt, a bit of oil and cumin.
You should try it, turns out great

We can follow this line of reasoning and say what’s the point of sterilizing if we don’t do it every hour? How about every minute? Why do it at all if it just becomes contaminated as soon as your sterilizing agent is gone?

>>11961903
I think we're splitting hairs between cleaning and sterilizing

>> No.11962329

>>11961932
exactly. It's pointless to sterilize a sink, but you should keep it clean so no thick layer of bacteria or whatever can form

Enjoy your allergies and immunodeficiency diseases, faggot. BTW it has recently been proven that alcohol heavily diluted with water is mucch more efficient against bacteria, so if you are going to do it anyway at least do it right.

No it isnt. If you want to reduce sodium content use less salt in the sauce. Unsalted pasta tastes like ass, no matter how much salt you use in the sauce. Just like unsalted boiled potatoes.

there was a study that determined that pathogens and microbes that collect at the sink button (prior to the drain) are spewed into the air from how sinks are designed and from water falling with the power of gravity. Its the reason why ORs dont have sinks INSIDE the actual OR, but in the prep areas.

It's the only chance you get to season your pasta.

Pasta absorbs water. If you cook it in saltwater, it will absorb saltwater. This is how you season pasta and don't just end up with bland pasta and sauce.
