I've thought this one over and read the statements above
The answer is yes. I can receive satisfaction from food. I can also receive satisfaction from movies or books, paintings and photographs, sculptures, carvings, and structures.
And the fact that the presentation and the way the ingredients are prepared and served, which requires knowledge and skill, factor into the satisfaction that I receive makes cooking an art form from the beginning until the very end.

well in terms of "Arts and Crafts" Cooking would be more of a craft than an art imo. Aspects of cooking can be an art, but cooking itself isn't.

When people refer to cooking as an art, they don't litterely mean the food is art. Usually it's just the techniques or creative ways of cooking we call the art of cooking.
