Because its a fucking cult. They pay half decently compared to the competition and provide decent stock options so everybody who doesn't know any better buys into the companies bullshit.
They ignore the fact that they've constantly taken away worker benefits and will continue to do so. They ignore the fact that breaking into management requires selling your soul to the company and literally putting your family second. They ignore the fact that "Worker owned" is bullshit because majority of shares is still in the Jenkins family.
If you're a customer, literally everything that isn't currently on sale is expensive as fuck compared to everywhere else, and most of the time the store brand is actually more expensive than name brand.

Seriously Publix is a decent place to work while you sort your life together but don't make a career out of it, you'll be eating someone else's shit your entire life.

It really has gone down hill. They've cut out some bulk staples which were actually a good deal and the employees are surly and unhelpful. Last time I was there over lunch hour there was only 1 fucking register open and the line was horrendous.

I think people just genuinely like them a lot. And who can blame them? Great food at such great prices. And the people are always so friendly. Publix is a wonderful experience every time.

It's somehow poorfag and nigger repellent, the reviews for my local Publix has several complaints that they don't have normal people food which I assume means extra lard gallons of mayo or something.
The atmosphere inside Publix is comfy and quiet, and the employee attire is professional.
