The first human to have cow milk probably had it from a cow that was dead.
I doubt any part of the animal went to waste back when you had to hunt it with a rock.

Hunger and desperation does funny things to the human mind.

Drinking milk from a cows udder is relatively tame compared to some of the trial-and-error and other outright outrageous things humans have done out of curiosity or from duress.

I also think about this from time to time, I just wanna know what kind of stories they used to tell, what the first words and songs were, who their heroes and legends were. Goddamn man, it's all so beautifully lost to the sands of time.

Why would it take balls? Cows are docile and exhibit no natural signs of being poisonous. It’d be safer to try and milk a cow than eat an unknown berry.

the first cows to be milked would have been wild ox's which is even more ballsy. I don't even know how you would get close enough to milk a wild ox without getting your teeth kicked through your ass. also hence why milk is unnatural, humans would have never had access to milk before domestication of animals, we have existed a much longer time without consuming milk than we have with, milk is full of natural hormones meant for calves to grow into huge beasts which does fuck knows what to humans, some of the healthiest people on earth are Japanese and guess what they don't consume a lot of if at all, dairy. Greeks are also very health and again their dairy consumption is limited. not that dairy is the cause of all evil but it's not great.

Probably not. Animals were being domesticated before milk consumption started.

>also hence why milk is unnatural
Unnatural does not mean bad. Certain groups of people thrived on milk.

>some of the healthiest people on earth are Japanese and guess what they don't consume a lot of if at all, dairy.
That doesn't mean lack of dairy consumption is why they're healthier. They're also more physically active and less likely to be overweight.

>Probably not. Animals were being domesticated before milk consumption started.
Also milk consumption probably became a benefit to people with dairy animals because it meant they could get something that's almost equivalent to meat without having to kill the animal. You could make cheese and get rid of the lactose, but that's still lost calories. It was a good step in the human-animal relationship as it meant less killing and it's probably why cultures that revolved around dairy sometimes seem to have more respect for animals, because they aren't just something to be killed and eaten.

Getting enough calories is why people today start puberty earlier, but how well you can grow a beard is mostly due to genetics I think. There are groups of people who just never grow a beard, I think it's more common among Africans and Native Americans.

>Unnatural does not mean bad. Certain groups of people thrived on milk.

Just because you can thrive on something doesn't mean it's not also causing long term health issues. Constantly bombarding your body with hormones designed to stimulate growth in a different species may not have short term repercussions but neither does eating a shitload of sugar, it isn't until later after constant over consumption that you develop diabetes. perhaps there is a link between long term consumption of dairy and various illnesses, cancer being one of them.

>That doesn't mean lack of dairy consumption is why they're healthier. They're also more physically active and less likely to be overweight.

It doesn't mean it's not the lack of dairy consumption either, there is probably a lot of factors why they're overall healthier than other nations, not just limited to diet but diet almost certainly plays a role and you have to start looking at the differences in their diets compared to the west and one of those differences is the lack of dairy. It's not the only difference but it's one of.

Does milk have more hormones than meat? I'm pretty sure the high calorie content in liquid form is just what makes calves grow quickly, not sure why you're attributing it to hormones.

milk contains bovine growth hormone, just like human breast milk contains human growth hormone. cow milk also contains igf-1 as well as some testosterone and estrogen.

If there was a way to filter milk and keep all of the fat, protein and carbs but remove all of the hormones then i'd be all for milk consumption but I don't know if that's even possible or feasible, it's obviously cheaper just to bottle and sell it as is and adding another filtration step would increase the price. milk has pretty good nutrition, i just don't trust drinking the milk of another species is great for your health when the intended purpose of that milk existing in the first place is to support rapid growth of a developing calf. calves and humans are obliviously not the same, we have different hormonal requirements. the nutrition is good in terms of plenty of calories to support growth, but the hormones exist to promote growth in different areas at different rates, so fuck knows what happens long term when a human has been ingesting bovine growth hormone for years, what kind of effect does that have, hormonal changes whether natural or unnatural have long been implicated in certain cancers.

It probably just carried over as a natural instinct. It's not like every single thing had to be learned from nothing as humans evolved.
