Is there nutritional value in eating grass? Animals seem to be doing just fine eating it.

To whom or what?

To humans? No, we can't digest cellulose. To animals? Yes, some of them have the necessary adaptations to digest it. These include things like multi-chambered stomachs (e.g. cows), incredibly long intestines (apes), or coprophagy. Yes, many herbivores eat their own shit in order to re-digest it (e.g. rabbits, hamsters, etc.) Humans lack these adaptations so we derive zero nutrition from grass.
