How do I clean this off? I had it for 2 years, still looked brand new. My brother gets a hold of it for ONE cooking session that lasts 10 minutes and fucking destroys half of it. I washed it twice and it did nothing. What do?

Retard you are supposed to have a set of guest kitchenware to avoid these things, read the /ck/ guide next time. Also no you fucked it. Throw it out and get a new one.

They usually say to use baking soda for scrubbing as an abrasive.

Make a Sauce Bolognese and simmer it in the pan for a few hours, the acidity from the tomatoes will dissolve all that polymerized fat.

Yeah so, carbon kind of gets on pans when you actually cook with them. Sorry anon. Try scrubbing it as it is made of copper and it will not hurt it.

There are decarbonizing compounds sold for certain pans and grills, but you need to read the directions for what metals they are safe for. Conencentrated Grill-Brite for instance reacts HILARIOUSLY violently with aluminum. Plain bleach will eat carbon, but oxidizes steel, not sure about copper. Ask a damned chemist or google this shit. OR USE ELBOW GREASE AND LOTS OF DAWN, SEVERAL SESSIONS.

He probably used metal utelsils on it and scraped it up. I've had one for a damn long time myself and it works great. I use wooden utelsils on it and clean it under water with a sponge or paper towel, not steel wool. It's as perfect now as when I bought it, these things get a bad rap but they're pretty easy to deal with. A scotch brite works nicely too if something is left on too long, they wont cause any scrapes.

>> No.12098065

Treat it like you're deglazing the pan. Add some water, bring it to the boil, then rub it with a utensil until it dissolves.

>> No.12098101

>>12098065
Or like a cast iron skillet, bring some water to a boil throw some nice chunked salt into it any rub any crust off with a towel, nothing abrasive, the salt wont hurt the skillet itself. It works for me, those were in fact the directions that came some old Wagner's that I bought.

>> No.12098136

I was able to leave for work a bit later than usual one morning and watched my cleaning lady scrub an enameled saucepan I'd thought I'd permanently blackened the night before with bleach powder. Came right off. Not sure how well that'd work on metal directly, but it works really rather well for enameled cookwear.

I think some of those cleaning lady's have magical fluids like barkeeper's friend or stuff from Betco that'll eliminate that stuff fast. I'd give it a good rinse or three before using it and make sure there's no scratches on it.

Wet the pan and drain the excess water, then scrub it with a mixture of washing liquid and rinse aid. You might have to use some kind of scourer, and you might want to leave the liquid/rinse aid mixture on there for a good 10-15 minutes, then wash off with hot water.

Sponge + grill screen will remove whatever burnt on shit is left in the pan... It will probably also kill the pan, but it's worth a shot as a last resort.
