decided to try wine for the first time. bought pic related red wine from LCBO.

gonna open tomorrow night while i start a LOTR marathon.

what do i eat with it? right now i'm thinking pizza nova.

true, it would ruin high quality food but if OP is watching a movie marathon and drinking it in the first place, I doubt that is in the cards.

Bottom shelf wine sometimes has faint unpleasant smells that will burn off if you open it about an hour before you drink it.

Also, pop it in the fridge for about 10 minutes before you drink it, that will keep the insane sugar and alcohol levels from blowing up your snout. Most of these high octane pleb wines are actually somewhat drinkable if you cool them off a bit.

Also you can buy super inexpensive bottle spouts at the dollar store, walmart, local sell-all stores or online. They work as good as $20 airaters. It definitely improves the taste of shit wines.
