Bourbon.

All my favourite liquor comes from the US. They're not obsessed with "smoothness" and like to add a kick. I want a metaphorical punch in the face every time I order it neat.

Also I swear a fuck-truck full of people decided to cash in on scotch/whisky brand recognition, started shipping components there to hash out some pretty fucking inferior stuff.

Bourbon. I love the sweet vanilla\carmel taste and the smell of the corn mash is lovely. The higher bottling proof is also a plus

Bourbon is usually cheaper. There's a 'Clan Mcsomething' around here that's almost as cheap as a handle of bourbon, but my brother and I split it and didn't finish it on Thanksgiving. It must have arsenic in it.

We're monsters that could finish a handle each if we drink all day; that shit had us vomiting, shitting, falling over sideways and we didn't even feel drunk, just miserable, on probably less than 750mL consumed slowly over the day.

Nice scotch, I like Kilchoman.

I have to admit, bourbon is pretty popular for a reason. A well-done product of its craft is rich, flavorful, and complex.

I’ve found that the difference between a $30 bottle of bourbon and a $100 bottle is minuscule, while the difference between a $30 bottle of scotch and a $100 is much greater. I didn’t originally like peaty scotches. I’d run a glass through the washer at work and when I’d open the door, the peaty steam would hit me in the face, making me gag. But I bought a bottle on sale one day to give drinking it a shot, and by the third glass, I was loving it. Nursing yourself into them is better than going all out. Get a bottle of dalwhinnie and see what you think. Bourbons are nice in the summer. Their high gravity works well with an ice cube on a hot day. But some are cloyingly sweet. Cheap bourbon for session drinking, expensive scotch for sipping as a nightcap. Best way to go.

You don't like alcohol, so you think nobody likes it and it's some emperor's new clothes nonsense. >Not knowing that every civilized country regards it as Scottish tequila.
Good comparison, tequila is brilliant spirit after a certain price point, however most common and inexpensive brands are absolute garbage (some aren't even tequila); as a result people that have only ever drunk cheap and poor quality tequila, just like scotch, think that is representative and shit on the category as a whole. Most people simply express a preference though, they don't layer it with pretension and /int/ butthurt like you.

If you're an enthusiast of whisky then you already have a repertoire of bottles that are about the same and higher quality than crown royal. The more mass distributed a spirit is, typically the more they have to cut corners. except soy products (along with many other plants) are an established source of phytoestrogens, which can act on human estrogen receptors a diet rich in such plants is used by postmenopausal women to address symptoms of estrogen depletion (hot flashes, vaginal dryness, etc). It's not the most effective therapy but the compounds are there. On the other hand, moderate consumption of phytoestrogen-containing plants is probably alright, as you said. I mean even almonds have a decent amount. I wouldn't eat nothing but tofu and soy protein for gains though
