About a year ago, I drank a shitton this stuff because it was really good but I puked most of it up by the next morning.

Tried to drink it again months ago because I remember liking the taste, but just the smell made me nauseous. How long does it typically take to get over that? Is there a good chance that it's ruined for good?

>> No.12252706

It’s potentially ruined for life. Try it mixed with something and try to ease it back into your life. But it might just be gone forever. Good luck.

t. haven’t been able to drink peppermint schnapps in 12 years

This. One really bad experience with alcohol can put you off for quite some time. For me its Jose Cuervo tequila

>> No.12252728

Exact same thing happened to me. When I woke up I could smell it and that alone made me want to throw up. For the past two years I haven’t been able to touch alcohol or anything with a cinnamon smell, shit sucks. I want to drink but my body instantly rejects it.

Literally me except I blacked out and got a DUI for wrong-way driving on the highway. No one got hurt and I abused the arresting officer the whole night. Got off with a slap on the wrist. Nowadays minimum sentencing for my stunt is AT LEAST a year in prison. Good times

>> No.12252743

Damn. I guess I'll try mixing it with something to try to ease back into it. It'd suck to not be able to drink it anymore considering how good it was.

Consider it a blessing this happened and move on to classier alcohol (almost anything else)

That's fair. Any specific suggestions?

It's way too sweet. It goes beyond being liquor and is more like a sugary synthetic tasting syrup

Potentially ruined for life, but there's a chance you'll eventually come to like it again a few years down the line.
First time I spewed on alcohol was from bourbon. That was 20 years ago. I still don't like cheap, shitty bourbon but once in a while I don't mind a highball made from a really good quality one.

But then I've spewed on beer, wine, cider, scotch etc and been fine. The time I spewed on white wine and on cider it took me a few months/years to be able to drink them again though. Cider, months.

Maybe with Fireball, try mixxing it with something to try and slowly get used to it again. It's great mixxed with cider like Strongbow; tastes like drinking an apple pie. Goes well with cola or ginger ale too.

Bourbon gives you a great price to quality ratio. You cant go wrong with bulleit, even Evan Williams is good if you're short on money. Avoid jack like the plague.

Jose Cuervo is bottom shelf trash anyway

this is so true. I was 19 and my hot older coworker invited me to this private party above this music venue in my city. She gave me an entire bottle of windsor (which is bottom shelf plastic bottled whiskey). Ended up drinking way too much (skinny light weight) and after she dropped me off I puked my guts out. The next morning I had my first real hangover, and spent the entire day vomiting every 30-60 minutes.

Every time I smell whiskey I am immediately brought back to that night. It’s been 4 years since then and it still hasn’t gone away. Thankfully I’m not a huge drinker so it isn’t so bad, but I’d like to be able to handle a little whiskey now and then.

We never fucked, either.

You mean jager? I had the same thing happen to me. A friend bought me a bottle for my bday and its been in my cupboard for 2 years, been waiting to regift it to someone but I have no friends

I feel the same way about rum. The smell alone reminds me of a really bad time.

Just mix it with apple juice.
Tastes like cinnamon apple pie.
Gotta be cloudy apple though, none of that regular shite.

The good news is, fireball is garbage juice. So you actually unfucked yourself. Congrats now you don't look like a dumb bitch when you drink hard liquor.
