I hate this one couple that comes over to my Dad’s house every year for football parties that always has to take over the cooking. They used to piss my mom off to no end when she was still married to my Dad and living here to the point that she banned them from any and all parties at our house but now that she’s gone we have to put up with them again because my Dad is close friends with the husband. The worst part is not only are they snobs that refuse to eat anyone else’s food but theirs (which is why they insist THEY cook at OUR house) but they’re fucking AWFUL at it. The meat is always raw and gummy, whether it be chicken or ribs. Husband always insists he bake his shitty tomato mac and cheese (bland mac and cheese recipe with two cans of tomato soup mixed in) in our oven and always torches it so the noodles come out hard and dry. One time I felt bold and suggested to him it might taste better if he shortened the baking time so it would be a little creamier and he told me that I’m the only one who doesn’t like it (even though I heard two other people on separate occasions complain about it). I sometimes come into the kitchen while either the husband or wife are cooking to see what’s going on and they’ll rudely tell me to leave because I’m “distracting them”, even though it’s not their house and I’m not their child to boss around.

I’m still pretty new to cooking and earlier this year during football season had come up with a basic mac and cheese recipe that I thought tasted pretty good (I kinda want to rework it eventually but eh) and I asked my Dad if I could make it for his superbowl party and Dad said he would LOVE that, but even though my Dad told his asshole friend and we had gone out and bought all the cheeses, the friend still brought his tray of ready-to-bake tomato mac and told us it was ready to go already so we shouldn’t waste it! Seriously fuck that guy.
