What is a good healthy/cheap thing to buy and eat right away with little to no prep time? I typically get a can of boyardee spaghetti and a cookie for just under 2 dollars a meal. How can I do better without needing more than a microwave?

Pick three and only three and you might get a straight answer. Your post is a paradox.

A bag of uncooked kale. My point is that if it's going to be healthy and cheap it needs prep time. If its healthy and fast it wont be cheap. If it's all three, it absolutely will not taste very good. You can rule out any cheap food that doesn't need to be cooked as healthy besides vegetables or nuts. Even then nuts are pricey if over $2 is expensive without preptime.

i eat a can of chili without heating it almost every day for work
haven't died yet

i find the classic "with beans" hormel to be the gold standard, but the new cambells chunky chili is my current favorite.
