Honestly the only risk is to serves like chips (fries) where you can easily take one without anyone noticing, but they give you too many fries for the bag most of the time anyway so I don't really give a shit if Sanjay takes a couple.

For burgers there's no possible way to take any, the bite would be there. This goes for subs and sandwiches as well obviously.

For small quantity entrees like dumplings they list the number you get on the order, there's no way to swipe one without people noticing.
For pizza, a missing slice would be extremely apparent too.

Bowls of noodles and curries are full of sauce, they would be extremely hard to open eat from and close without getting it every where and making a mess.

Oh and milkshakes have those plastic lids you push the straws through, super apparent if those have been used. They also get wrapped in plastic wrap.

So basically it's effects nothing but potato chips, and even then you're losing like a handful that falls into the outer bag.
It's fucking nothing.

Yeah sometimes when i do a double order i find a 1.5 order. Real sus.

One time i walked out to meet my driver and saw two black women in the front seat and their children in the back. They hand me my food and I ask what about the drink, they give me a sort of half smile and say thats all they got.

This really made me think since I wanted to jump to conclusions and decide these women were yanking my fucking chain. But then I realized perhaps the awkwardness felt by the delivery woman was that it looked pretty bad on her as a black woman if the restaraunt really did forget to put out my drink for them to pick up. Maybe she even thought "damn i know what this boys thinking."

Wouldn't that cause trouble for the restaurant or service itself? If you see your food is missing items and call for reimbursement, and multiple customers do it, they'll probably pinpoint who did it easily

>> No.12714711

I used to work at a place with doordash and such as a delivery service. It's not just "one or two fries" because there's no way to tell. I'd get a call or a notification on our app saying they're missing an item or two. Sometimes the driver just cancels the order and takes the food for themselves, leaving me with the angry lazy retard that used the service. And a lot of these apps don't even keep the record of drivers like contact info, license plate, or photo of their face, just a name. So if one would want to report them for suspected theft it's near impossible. Also a lot of the drivers were either arab/semetic or black, I wouldn't trust them with my food. And when these companies started out they could see the tip on the orders they carry. The ones with large tips would be picked up instantly. While the low tip/tipless orders would stay up to an hour or two max before someone came to pick it up.
Moral of the post, don't be a lazy or dumb and pick up your own food if you can't be fucked to make it.

How can the driver cancel the customer's order?
If they took it for themselves, the app can see that the driver picked it up and marked it delivered but the customer will click the thing that says "I didn't get it" and then it's going to get obvious pretty quickly if a driver does it more than once.
The driver would probably need to actually go to the customer's home too or the app is going to know from GPS that they didn't even pretend to deliver it.

On most apps we and I assume also the driver have options to cancel the order for whatever reason. Usually the reason they would cancel it is "food is damaged/ruined" implying they dropped it or it fell down and so not fit for consumption.
The driver doesn't need to go to their home either, they could have just never delivered it making the customer wait. But yes it's obvious when they do it. However there's like 6 of these services when one got fired I'd see him delivering for another service.

Oh right, the restaurant would have to send another item then, right?
And I assume the restaurant can review drivers too, or complain about them or something.

>they could have just never delivered it making the customer wait
This is the problem one because then the customer has to file a dispute and it probably takes a bit for them to get money back and re-order. Last Mother's Day, I ordered some flowers, it took four hours for the florist to turn around and say they couldn't do it so the flowers I ordered and re-ordered for the MiL ended up arriving at like 4pm instead of 9am.

>However there's like 6 of these services when one got fired I'd see him delivering for another

The people working them are technically "independent contractors", and are responsible to NO ONE, so they could eat or fuck with your food, and al, that will happen is their contracted company will "ban" them. >Oh right, the restaurant would have to send another item then, right? And I assume the restaurant can review drivers too, or complain about them or something.
From my experience the order would just be canceled and the customer would get a refund and could choose to place it again. And we have no real way to complain or screen drivers because they choose the order to pick up rather than have us choose a driver. As for complaining about them there's no real way because again they don't have license plates or phone numbers basically only a name at times, some have pictures but those go away once the order is canceled or completed.
Basically yeah, I've never had to deal with the refund stuff because any refund is payed for by the company, not the business. And then uniformed mouth breathers would yell at me over the phone that I basically can't do nothing for them like give credit/refund/ or deliver for them and that they have to talk to delivery app rep about the problem.
>That's still "only" 6, I'm sure they don't share records but those aren't many bridges to burn and then he's back to trying to find a pizza shop that wants an exclusive driver and they must be running out too.
These people are sneaky in how they do it in a way. One person could hypothetically burn through their steal a meal tokens on all apps and won't be hired again, but does the app know their girlfriend/relative? They'll sign up someone else and then do it again.

>And we have no real way to complain or screen drivers
I guess you need to tell the customer to give a bad review to the driver so that they'll get fired/b& eventually.

>One person could hypothetically burn through their steal a meal tokens on all apps and won't be hired again, but does the app know their girlfriend/relative? They'll sign up someone else and then do it again.
I guess one of the good things to come out of the outrage that taxi companies are hyping about Uber etc is that those companies are getting stricter with ID requirements for drivers. There's going to come a point where drivers will have to send selfies to log in or something.

>> No.12723583

This. If you're feeling lazy make a fuckhuge pot of stew over the course of a few hours stirring every 20 minutes while doing important shit like cleaning the house. You can section parts of it off and keep it in the freezer and it won't taste like shit when reheated 2 weeks later. After the inital cooking it's 5 minutes at most in the microwave you have to wait. Never gets old if you can make a good stew either.

I don't get how people think waiting up to a hour for their food to get cold on the way over and paying up the ass for it seems more convinient.
