use coconut oil
hull-less yellow topaz kernals if you have a choice
use the smallest grain salt you have, obviously popcorn salt is the best, pickling salt also works well, table salt, or if you have large grain salt then bash them in a mortar/pestle or food processor
unsalted butter if that's your deal
