I am a Brit myself but i watch vlogs on Youtube of American families eating deep fried oreos, deep fried kit kats, all types of doughnuts with different fillings, fudge cones, etc

Then you have all the big eateries in America that offer all these big cookies with cream. You'll never see anything like pic related in a UK eatery

In the UK all we get is a slice of bland cheesecake or a scoop of haagen daas, plain jam doughnuts. Unless you go to some specific American designed eatery and pay three times the price you just can't get the cool milkshakes, doughnuts, cookies and the variety that you have in the states.

>> No.12892445

Maybe sharia police doesnt allow desserts anymore?

>> No.12892448

U.K cuisine is abysmal but the fact that you took deep fried kit Kat as an example of an exciting desert tells everything we need to know about why English food sucks.

The sticky toffee pudding with dates is actually an Australian/NZ variety I first tried while in Sydney although its reasonable to consider it British. Its hardly aborigine! Truthfully im not much of a pâtissier so until my gf gets off work i'd be hesitant to give a recipe. I can offer advice on restaurants in the North of England that does them though.

Muslims don't typically drink alcohol. Devout muslims wont touch a drop. As such they seek out non-alcoholic alternatives. Milkshakes makes it seem wholesome 1950's American teens however the muslims could not be further from that image. Their milkshakes are halal, usually they are ostentatious and always sickly to taste.

The muslims i've met are surprisingly westernised in the sense of consumerism and rootless cosmopolitanism. They like iPhones and super cars and eat fast food. They go to mosque on a Friday and observe things like halal and eid but its usually to please their parents. If they had a choice they would rather get their hair or nails done or go shopping for designer products. They have none of the humility often associated with the English.
