Stop watching, man. It's lowering your IQ. It's not going to make logic. It's staged TV. He's in no position to tell people what to put on their menu.

michelin stars aren't awarded to chefs, they're awarded to venues. the michelin star system is also LITERALLY just a marketing scheme, it means nothing

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xqntx3jKUZQ

Yea bongs arnt funny, but still

Also, he doesn't make a new menu and he doesn't make the food either. The producers hire someone else to do it. They show this every episode

>> No.12926902

Doesn't he make a menu that includes simple dishes that so-called chefs can easily prepare?

they're stupidly easy dishes. it's not like he's just slapping souffles and pot de creme on the menus and expecting minimum wagies to magically learn how to master it in a few days.

The entire point of the Michelin star system is to encourage vacationers to travel more by pointing out good places to eat.
You never wondered why it's named after a tire company?

That's not my point, my point is that when someone calls a chef "Michelin starred" it means his restaurant(s) have won Michelin stars, which usually is mostly on him as he made the menu and cooks it (in Gordon's case he doesn't do it anymore though since he owns so many).

Exactly, the restaurant is what is being rated. You say "it's a three star restaurant" not "he's a three star chef"

Actually it's not uncommon to cite the total aggregate number of stars won by a chef. "Chef so-and-so has 11 Michelin stars to zer name, the most for any trans chef", etc. If it's a range within the possible score of a single restaurant it's usually phrased differently because of possible ambiguity, but if someone's got a ton of stars then it's ok to list the total stars.

the show is fake anyway what are you on about? They don't even get to talk to Ramsay at all, he just shows up yells at you in front of camera and leaves while the producers do everything in their power to make you look like a shithead and then magically try to redeem you and make you stand in front of a camera and pretend that it was all Gordon Ramsay blah blah. It's just a shitty reality TV show where barely anything is real

Exactly. It's not "he is a 3 star chef" it's "he is a chef whose restaurants have garnered a total of X stars"
