Dairy Queen is slowest in my experience. Chicfila near me is one of the fastest places I've been even with so many customers. These times seem fine to me. I don't go often, but every time I go through a fast food drive thru, it lasts at least 10 minutes, usually longer. Most of the time they are quite busy. 5 minutes is nothing.

What the study leaves out is how MANY people a CFA serves in a given window. Yes, an individual guest might wait longer at CFA than a BK or TB, but in the same amount of time way more people get served.

You have a shit TB franchisee. The corporate stores and some of the well-managed franchises are fast.

Two:

You are being confused by the many tricks CFA uses to hide their long drive-thru times, such as having tons of guest facing interactions and minimizing the time spent at the actual window.

CFA is also better in off-peak times because their production methods scale down better than many other QSRs. Everything at Taco Bell is assembled to order, but at CFA they stage the most popular entrees throughout the day using a business model copied from Toyota.

So if you show up at 2:30 PM or 10:15 a CFA will be hella quick but a Taco Bell will probably take just as long because everything is made to order. If you show up at lunchtime you're likely to wait a long time at CFA.

My local place is probably the single busiest business in town. They have a 2-car line and have employees standing outside taking orders on tablets, going car-to-car and helping to direct the lines. They also have a separate stop for getting your receipt, paying in cash, getting your food, and getting condiments/napkins/other stuff.


Despite having near-constant traffic, they manage to give me my order correctly every time. The line is always moving at a steady pace, and it always organized. The employees are always courteous, direct, and quick. The food is always in good shape when it gets to me, not slapped together or haphazardly put into the bag so it spills or causes problems. Finally, everything in and around the building is clean, and they are almost never written up for violations.

I have a lot of respect for whoever owns our local branch, and will almost always go to Chick-Fil-A if I want fast food. I can trust them to be clean and handle my food well, and I believe in supporting that kind of business.

I know this sounds like a troll, but I just legitimately admire their commitment to good service. It is how I would run a business. There is a very good reason they have so much business, and why everyone wants to work there and has good things to say about them. Credit where credit is due, fuck the haters. They can eat all the Mc-slop they please.

Theres a mcdonald about 40 minutes away from me thats notorious for taking an hour for your order and its the wrong order about 99% of the time. Ive never got rhe right order before. They're almost always the perfect texture and flavor. I've had over salted, soggy, or undercooked fries at a number of other fast food places, McDonalds being the biggest offender. CFA almost always is decent quality.
