If not, how do you like it prepared?

I've heard of rabbit stew and even rabbit tacos but I've never seen it at any restaurant I've been to and i usually seek out restaurants that cook exotic meats.

What /ck's opinion?

its just that the meat is very lean

>"....among those forest Indians who depend at times on rabbits, the leanest animal in the North, and who develop the extreme fat-hunger known as rabbit-starvation. Rabbit eaters, if they have no fat from another source—beaver, moose, fish—will develop diarrhea in about a week, with headache, lassitude and vague discomfort. If there are enough rabbits, the people eat till their stomachs are distended; but no matter how much they eat they feel unsatisfied. Some think a man will die sooner if he eats continually of fat-free meat than if he eats nothing, but this is a belief on which sufficient evidence for a decision has not been gathered in the North. Deaths from rabbit-starvation, or from the eating of other skinny meat, are rare; for everyone understands the principle, and any possible preventive steps are naturally taken."

If you ONLY eat rabbit meat you can die from lack of fat in your diet, since rabbit so extremely lean (so called "rabbit starvation").
But eating rabbit is not "negative calories" or like "skipping a meal", and just eating one "fat-less" meal of rabbit wont make you starve to death.

The primary way to obtain rabbit is to run it over with your car, or have a fast dog who can kill one. Who the fuck would pay 8 bucks a pound for low grade meat? I could have prime steak for that cost.

I might have a priviledge for living in literally "the land of many rabbits"

as for "it tastes bad" you are supposed to make stews with it or my favorite way: garlic rabbit

For 4-6 people
1 butchered rabbit (1kg)
2 garlic heads
250 ml white wine
Extra virgin olive oil
Salt and black pepper
Thymus, Bay laurel, Rosmarimus

Cut the garlic and sweat them in olive oil till its golden and then throw the rabbit meat, alongside the salt, peper and herbs.
Once the meat is brown you put the white wine and let it cook till only the oil remains

and presto, it tastes great and vampires won't approach you for 4 hours. Accompanny with fried potatoes or just some lettuce

in the US. I travel a lot or work, so I wind up eating a lot of meals on the road in most major cities. If im in a city for 3 or 4 days, I always seek out a french bistro cuz they rarely suck. (and when you travel you eat a lot of sucky food)
Places i tend to find rabbit:
>french bistro
>french classical (i don't usually eat at them - the prices are usually way outside my per diem)
>Alsatian (NW french/german/swiss Rhine valley)
>tapas

Stringy, tastes a bit like gamey chicken, but the biggest problem with it were the bones. I thought I could cook the saddle complete then just slide the meat off like with chicken but they actually sort of disintegrate because they’re so fine so it landed up being mouthfuls of shitty tasting, stringy, half melted bones.
