microwaved some leftover 'za for too long and it came out hard like bone lads
how to reheat leftover 'za properly?

next time soak a napkin with water, wrap the pizza with it and microwave it with less time. Or put a little bit of water in a frying pan, place pizza in there, low heat, put lid and let it steam.

>> No.13187605

Never reheat. Don't even eat it hot in the first place. Putting all your pizza in the fridge and waiting until it's cold is the ultimate redpill.

Why is pizza that has been reheated in a microwave so terrible?

microwaves are terrible in general, unless you're quickly heating up water to defrost something.

>> No.13187614

Bro, do not microwave Pizza to reheat. Cast iron pan on the stove and heat it up slowly. That will give you the perfect texture.

Yeah no kidding. One of the best things about pizza is texture contrast (crispy plus hot and fatty). Cold pizza is just lazy; it's not some underrated culinary delight.

This reminds me, I spent a year in Ft Bragg living in the barracks with a roommate who really didn't know much about cooking and also didn't really eat much now that I think about it. Anyway, we had leftover pizza and I jokingly told him that pouring a little water on the slice before you microwave it would make it like new. The next day I walk into the kitchen area and this fool is actually holding a slice of pizza under a running faucet.

>that water trick really works anon

He did that shit the rest of the time we lived together lmao

Microwave, 20 seconds.
Pan, hot.
Lid, on.

Once the cheese has fully melted and the bottom is crispy, your pizza is done.

Put slice directly on oven rack or on a perforated metal pizza pan in a preheated oven, 500 degrees for 2 to 5 minutes.

>> No.13192280

>>13187668
High temp (500 degree) oven is preferable. Toaster oven crisps the crust too much, toasting it like toast, and melts the cheese too much, ruining its texture and giving it a disgusting mouthfeel. Pizza parlours use a 500 degree pizza oven for a short burst of heat (up to 5 mins.) to reheat a slice.

best way to reheat pizza is line slices in a stovetop pan and loosely lid them (angle the lid to vent it) or use a foil tent

use lowest heat and wait about 20 minutes

bottom crust is crispy, toppings and cheese are warmed like fresh out of the oven

Or toaster oven.

>> No.13195111

protip: for reheating use your oven. 8 minutes at 400F (no preheating) will make bagels taste fresh again with a crispy outside and soft inside. The same works for a lot of foods.

microwave is working only on the water molecules; so the only good idea of reheating anything in microwave is soups, cold tea/coffee. Or when you know something contains a lot of water and you want to "boil it" on molecular level, FAST. Water can and will evaporate and because of that, the cake dough is going to be dry and hard.

I work in salmon industry; fresh salmon with a bit of salt and some spices comes out really good from microwave - just 3 minutes - because it contains so much water and fats. Salmon is honestly the only thing I know which actually works well with microwave.

But grilled or hot smoked is obviously still better.

>> No.13195291

This is what I do:
I put it in the microwave for around 30-40 seconds, and then I put it on the stove to make it crispy (or somewhat crispy). And I leave it on there until it's ready and that's it.
