Caffeine is bad for you because it has a long half life and stays in yours system long enough to lower the quality of your sleep. A person who doesn't consume any caffeine will have higher quality, more refreshing sleeps. Also you start feeling tired all the time without it and start to become dependent on caffeine. But as far as things go it's pretty benign and isn't like harmful or anything.

A daily dose of modafinil is far better in every way if you're drinking coffee for productivity reasons, but drinking coffee together is good for socializing, so there is that.

And that's probably based of a correlation study that didn't account for other lifestyle choices, hence there is a study claiming eating lots of broccoli reduces the risk of certain intestinal cancers, because those participants with the lowest amount of cancer at more broccoli than the rest.

Yeah, might be true, but for productivity I'll still say modafinil is better. And that drinking coffee with someone is better for socializing, than popping pills together.

They also combine race, age and sex in a lot of there studies. Anyways, not denying caffeine may have positive benefits, but *why* are you consuming this stimulant? Because you can't function without, societal expectations or because you want to get more done/perform at a greater level? You really need to take this into account when deciding if caffeine is to become your drug of choice.

Of course you'll feel bad if you and entire 200mg pill a day, that's why my study group usually only take 50mg, at 6am~.
It's more complicated to use than coffee, but it's not addictive at all, low potential of abuse, there is no 'high', most can use it months on end without adverse effects. There also the S-isomer, that releases much slower, hence it's milder.

I tried caffeine pills and they make me way less friendly than coffee does. Pure caffeine helps with a workout, but if you're working 9-5 caffeine pills will fuck you right up.

Now I brew my own coffee. French press, 2/3 coffee 1/3 loose leaf tea. It helps me smile.

Coffee has tannins and oxalates which impair your ability to absorb fat, protein, iron, calcium and more. As a stimulant it will increase your heart rate and reduce your lifespan, which is what happens when your organs (e.g. heart, lungs) are made to work harder. It will stress you and age you. Even in small amounts taken in the morning, caffeine will impair sleep. Assess to decide whether the risk is worth the reward.
