Pretty sure I got just the standard general tsos. White rice, iirc.
I know that americanized Chinese food is generally fried foods with sugar sauce. I get that, and I enjoy it. But this was exceptionally greasy and sweet, I didn't enjoy it at all. Maybe this was just a bad spot? I was hoping for something better.
Also, no hot and sour soup? So upsetting.

There was some generic chinese fast food at my hometown mall about 16 years ago that served orange chicken that was so inundated with sugar that it made my teeth ache. Oh yeah, they had a big sign proudly proclaiming "No MSG," yet there was more sucrose in a single order of orange chicken to make a 24 pack of Cola.

All the Panda Expresses close to me switched from using the white containers like in the OP to the black trays. It feels like they hold less food overall and they raised their prices recently.

The food's still pretty good at least. I usually get half chow mein half veggies, mushroom chicken, and orange chicken or sweet fire chicken. If they have a non-premium special like the honey sesame chicken that catches my interest, I'll replace the last entree with that.

I've found myself eating there more as of late, mostly because it's near my work and it's convenient for lunch when I forget to bring mine from home. It's decent but their fried rice is very weak and comes off as being bland, doesn't help that you get so little of it as all portions in Panda Express are so small. It gets the job done for me, but when you live in California where there's local Chinese places every other step of the way it's hard to be completely satisfied by it.

The places near me use cardboard serving trays instead of styrofoam so all the sauce and moisture soaks in, and the food takes on that cardboard taste.
I miss Mr.Chau's it was super cheap and it was all low grade gristly, greasy beef and pork, and cheap thigh meat but you got a heaping shitload of it along with piles of fried rice and chow mein.
