How do you de-feather a bird prior to cooking? Give us your tips/tricks/etc.

dip it in boiling water for about a minute. this shrinks the skin and the feathers should be wasy to pull out afterwards. i'd recommend doing it outside or in a well ventillated area though because it stinks like fucking hell

As soon as you kill them hang them by the feet. Start at wings, grab a few feather at a time and yank down. Not to hard as to break the skin but firmly. Continue till the wings are done, then the legs.
You want to do the extremities first as they cool down faster than the body and cold it is more difficult.
Then the breast, be more careful here, the skin is softer. So take less feathers at a time. Then the back and any other places you have missed.
Finally use a pair of tweezers to grip and remove any quills that remain.
You can also go over it with a propane torch. My dad does but I don't bother.
Oh and have a split bin bag or wide bucket under the bird for the feathers.
