Kebab is Turkish, Gyro is from Greece.Gyro most frequently uses chicken, while kebab most frequently uses lamb. It's come to a point now where both may use more meattypes. There's a difference in how it's enclosed in the bun. The gyros I had used a lot more cabbage than the kebab.Schwarma is jewish, never had it, heard it's similar.

Never had real German doner but doner is really popular in Tokyo. I imagine the Japanese have somehow completely changed it and made it unrecognizable compared to the original (as they normally do with western food) but it is really good drunk food. Definitely a popular food for both expats and for otaku, reason being otaku like greasy junk food and expats get tired of Japanese food and just want some meat once in a while. I will definitely miss it when I go back to the states. Gyros and shawarma just aren't the same even though I love them. Döner Kebab is hit or miss in Germany really. There's some that use shitty meat, cookie cutter bread and basic veggies where you get your run of the mill kebab and there's places that use fresh beef, fresh veggies, make their own bread and sauces and serve you everything piping hot. Those places are great and I'd take one over any other kind of fast food. Standard kebab is really nothing special though, good when drunk and that's it.

you can make one yourself mate

Just get tomatoes, iceberg lettuce, onions, cucumber, ranch dressing, cocktail sauce, greek gyros meat and some flatbread.

gyros meat should be roasted in a pan and the flatbread toasted. Spread the sauces on both areas inside the flatbread. Salad items should be cut and put first into the flatbread. Meat comes last, with a little ranch + cocktail sauce on top. Now open your big mouth and bite in.

That comes close to what a Döner tastes like.

I think you know you're full of shit anon. But by all means, don't eat kebabs. I certainly won't force you. Of course if you don't want to be a hypocrite you shouldn't really eat anything not traditionally german either. So french and italian food is excluded as well. And if we're being really honest, depending on your location you should limit yourself to the food of your particular state because a unified germany is really a damn recent thing.

I can just travel to these countries in like 1 hour and eat their food if I want. Same thing to other german states but it happens that their cuisine are pretty similar, nothing different from eachother...perhaps this was one of the reasons to unify the reich...

First of all it's delicious so jot that down right quick.
Secondly yes. Donair was adapted from döner for white people in the 1970s, which is also why it omits lamb in favor of 100% beef.
