>Americans panic over Corona Beer..

Two surveys released this week show that the Corona's brand is suffering from negative buzz.
5W Public Relations said that 38% of Americans wouldn't buy Corona "under any circumstances" because of the outbreak, and another 14% said they wouldn't order a Corona in public. The survey encompasses polling from 737 beer drinkers in the United States.
In another survey conducted by YouGov, the firm found consumers' intent to purchase Corona fell to its lowest level in two years. The survey also showed that Corona's buzz score, a metric that that measures favorability, has dropped significantly since the beginning of the year.

The kind of people who still drink Corona are the kind of people who don't really think and just do things out of habit. 20 years ago, Corona wasn't such a terrible thing to be seen drinking. Most people of drinking age remembered a time before even Corona was widely available. It had a similar cachet as any other bad imported beer. Like Stella, except less yuppie, more chilled out. Don't sperg on me about Stella, zoomzooms. You don't remember what it was like.

This makes more sense honestly. I could see college students and recent graduate aged people everywhere throwing corona parties. Around the H1N1 scare, I saw a bunch of H1N1 costumes. I've even seen a group of girls with fairy wings labeled as h1n1, h1n2, etc. Corona beer and corona virus themed parties and costumes would be a hit.

and literally just saying the term corona makes people thing of the beer and more likely to buy it even if they hear the term in a context entirely unrelated to the beer

Just like the shooting at the Miller Brewery the other day is almost certainly going to increase sales as more people are thinking about Miller

I remember one time going to the mountain to ride 4 wheelers and drink gratuitous amounts of alcohol. We brought up 10 30 packs of Miller genuine draft and a 24 of Corona (still don't know who brought em). At one point we thought we had run out of the miller, just as a neighboring camp came over to hang out and brought over a couple beers.
Since nobody wanted the Corona, a big fight broke out amongst my family and friends. People going over tables, someone almost went in the fire, I was thrown threw the air we found my boot print above the door of the motor home.
After everything had settled we realized the neighbors left anyway... And then in a tipped over cooler we found it was still packed with Miller and the fight was for nothing... Just fun I guess

7 cases of Miller... We brought 7, and the day after this we went out and bought 3 more. Thought that number was high now I remember. Also remember waking up with dried blood clogging my nose and burning my throat. Whole body felt broken. Cleaning up SUUUCKKED

as you get older it becomes more difficult to remember and learn new things because your brain plasticity goes away so if you feel like culture has stopped or you keep thinking that 1980 was only 20 years ago rather than 50 years ago that's pretty much marks when your brain plasticity ended and you became a boomer stuck in his ways.

>> No.13725067

I think this has more to do with the fact that you're already comfortable than that your brain can't process it.

learning a language at 30 is harder because you already know how to tell people anything you need to communicate in ultra specific ways in one tongue. not so much at 11

Thats literally what the survey is saying, 35% of respondents said they had no interest in ever buying Corona regardless of the virus, and for some reason the journalists who wrote about this include them in those avoiding it because of the virus
