On another note, while Subway is healthier than Mcdonalds, it's far from being actually good for you, and isn't the best value for money if you want a sandwich. Also, franchise quality is very uneven.

Technically, they use fresh vegetables. The way people order there, it's rarely healthier than McDonald's. If you order a chopped salad and tell them to go light on the dressing, tell them to put all the veggies in it, then you'll be full and happy and it'll be a lot healthier than McD's. Otherwise, the sandwiches and meats are pretty much all bread, fat and salt. You do not want to know what goes into their breads, flatbreads, cured meats, and wrap tortillas.

If you get the subs they sell and don't add anything but veggies yeah. A footlong BLT is less than 500 calories for just bacon lettuce tomatoe and bread, but add mayo, cheese, etc it gets to over a 1000 in a hurry.
