To help keep somewhat on-topic, I didn't think to take a picture of what I had, but I made some nice over-medium eggs on buttered toast. Pan-fried 'em in butter, and put a lid over 'em as they cooked to steam the top and get just that right amount of cooked yolk to runny yolk to coat the bread nicely after a bite. Salt, pepper, seasoning salt, and paprika helped, too - made it look half-decent.

Well thanks, anon.
It's simple and completely unfancy.
Simmer carrot, dry onion, butter, a spoonful of rice per serving and strong vegetable broth until carrot is soft and rice is cooked, then blitz smooth. I use instant rice, but traditionally, it's supposed to be the normal one.
Anyway, bowl up, add herbs of choice (dill and/or parsley for me; just dill today, because the broth was made with parsley root as well as lovage) and drizzle liquid sour cream to serve. Again: nothing fancy. Just your typical Eastern Euro food.

It was nice. I hadn't cooked in a while and last time I tried a tortellini sauce it didn't come out too well, so I was very happy with this.

Planned for the day:
Breakfast: Ralston brand cornflakes with a banana in cold milk.
Mid-morning: coffee with milk;also, cake
Lunch: sliced fish cake stir-fried with bamboo shoots in fish, soy and oyster sauces and finished with Thai basil; also, the last bit of eggplant in chilli sauce as well as rice
Dinner: pasta with cauliflower

This is feeling like it's gonna be a fat day so I'll prolly have some instant noodles at some point. Maybe now.
