im really happy his youtube account has been uploading old uk nightmare episodes. really pleasant to have on in the background. there was an episode i watched where the restaurant owner tells a joke about his failing business and then starts to tear up and gordon clumsily consoles him. good stuff

I like his videos where he's just making a dish in his own kitchen the best. I don't necessarily learn much from it, but he comes across as really excited about cooking, and it's infectious.

Gordon's back and this time he's abseiled half way down a cliff and while he's there he's going to be "elevating" a dish cooked by the locals for thousands of years and serving it to them. He "elevates" the dish by salting it like he's gritting a road and scrambling eggs into it. It's traditionally street food but he's made it so you need a plate because it's mainly eggs now. The locals politely appreciate it.

When Gordon was a teenager he moved to France to learn how to cook from the best. That is high motivation. High ambition. One of the youngest chefs to win three michelin stars. An absolute world class chef. He did it all. Then decided to become a TV star.
