>forgot to salt the pasta water
reallistically, what solutions are there for this?

>> No.14318164

just make sure the sauce is salty enough and forget about it

>> No.14318252

Just throw it out of the window and have the seagulls eat it. There's nothing to be done at this point.

Sprinkle liberally with sea salt when plating.
And salt the damn water next time.

Saute pasta with salt and pepper. Serve. Delicious. Tender. Beautiful pasta

Your pasta is fucking ruined. Better start over from scratch.

OP here. Luckily cooked come pancetta too so the pasta pieces (rigatone) that had some pancetta were bearable due to its natural saltiness. Had to throw out the rest.

Drain the pasta once it's done and season it separately.

unfortunately i only realised once i put a piece in my mouth seated at my desk - by then, i was too far away from the kitchen to season it

Look, this is clearly going to be a thing.
You need to invest the $4 in a salt shaker for your desk.

Specifically the expensive one that has an airtight lid that snaps over the shaker holes, so you can close it and toss it in a drawer, not the $1 model.
Seriously, it helps. (Have had desk salt shakers for 10+ years; did not know what I had been missing)

I fear that I will be too tempted to sprinkle a bit of salt here and there on my tongue

don't fall for it anon! the desk salt shaker is a slippery slope. Soon you'll have pepper at your desk, then whole spices and a mortar & pestle. Before you know it, you'll be walking round with bottles of Worcestershire sauce in your pocket and bags of dried anchovies you insist are an "umami booster"!

Out of sight, out of mind.
The snap on lid helps you put it out of sight without risking the valuable substance.
