It's just ham cheese bread jerky steamed pudding and cider. So just eat ploughman's lunch type stuff that can be easily transported and doesn't spoil. It's not a cuisine, it's a lunch Frodo would pack to go on a journey. Just eat rustic foods (meats, breads, fruits, cheeses) that don't spoil easily, plus some little cakes or pastries or jam tarts. And cider, beer, mead or methyglynn. everything in natural looking containers- brown paper or glass or undyed cloth and put in a basket or rucksack. Remove labels from bottles and jars.

Why not just look up medieval food? There's plenty of surviving recipes. A slow cooked vegetable stew called pottage would be the most common for lower end.

Pic is from a themed restaurant called Olde Hansa in Estonia. Shame there's not more like it world wide.

Proper English food is good too. The ploughman's lunch is scrummy. Eel pie and pale ale will warm your innards on a cold afternoon. A lot of English food is meat cooked over an open flame with bread, tuber veg and gravy. Read "Albion's Seed" and you'll see most american barbecue has English roots. There's nothing wrong with red meat, cheese and bread and the folk who could afford good food in medieval times are well in England. And the rest of Britain as well for that matter. Luv me some haggis and beans on toast with some Branston and sharp cheddar. Black pudding and eggs with fried potatoes and mushrooms is lovely. Used to have two eggs over easy with tomatoes, fried kipper and a stout for brekky when I was at IU. There's a place called 'The Runcible Spoon' that I believe is still open that serves it if any hoosierbros are about.

Olde Hansa uses accurate ingredients and period specific recipes to Hansa League cities of the 15th century, even if their dishes are for the higher end of medieval society rather than the peasant end. Can't speak for all Medieval themed restaurants, and I agree that they'd get a lot of it wrong, but Olde Hansa seems legit enough.

You mean modern india? I doubt they had over 2 billion people
Also yeah meat consumption greatly increased after the 1300 as the smaller, richer population could afford it and sustain it as it were no longer a problem choosing between grain for the people or grass for the cows
