I don't really get it considering some fruit filling is always the star, like strawberry rhubarb pie is just...strawberry pie, with rhubarb. That looks like cherry pie, which rubarb.

I've had strawberry rhubarb pie all the time as a kid, literally thought rhubarbs were a fruit that tasted just like strawberries until I learned what they actually were, because that pie was just strawberry pie with some weird looking shit in it

Grandma and mother used to make it, but can't say that I particulary enjoy it. Never cooked rhubarb myself. I won't object to an offer of a piece of rhubarb pie but I won't ask for it either.
