Been drinking all over the world, and with all honest I can say it's probably the belgians.

American who lived in Europe for quite some time here. I think the best drinking culture is either Denmark or Poland. I loved drinking with Danes and Poles. Great people, wonderfully nice and welcoming. Real solid drinkers all. The Danes are prettier though, both men and women. But the Poles are more fun I think, more relaxed. Better snack foods for drinking as well.

In my experience, it's been England, Germany, and Czech. It was expected that I drink something, but it was casual and friendly - I never felt pressured to drink more, and when I'd overdo it a bit after a bad gig or whatever, people wouldn't leave me to my own semi-self-destructive devices, they'd come talk, bring some water, drag me out to get food.

Japan was also really cool, but there was an underlying stress to all of it... mind you, that feeling of judgement helped keep me fairly in line.

I have only traveled to a few european countries (eng, france, belgium & germany) and I would probably say its a toss up betwee uk, america, belgium & germany. They all have their strengths. Eh only a couple of those (sweating and lights maybe) and that's on benders. I just know that the wear and tear gets worse and less is needed to trigger worse symptoms. Trying to learn and improve though, a year ago I'd kill half a fifth in a day like nothing. Now that might send me to hell or at least destroy my body for a week and make me feel like I'm in hell with my liver on fire.
I really need to take my vitamins each day though. I'll never have the body I did before drinking but it's better than nothing.

well if you're drinking every day i'd strongly recommend tapering, so lets say you drink 5 shots a day, the next few days drink only 4 shots, the 3 etc. The lack of alcohol makes your body feel shitty but that is actually the easy part to get over, it's getting your mind used to being sober that is the hard part. Distraction is key, exercise really helps because it boosts your endorphins and tires you out enough to sleep. Like early on, its all about binge drinking because you're either too young to get alcohol regularly, or you're college age. Norway probably has the worst. Alcohol in general is taxed really hard. Alcohol in bars is just ridiculously expensive. This has resulted in a fucked drinking culture. It's mostly binge drinking, so no drinking during weekdays, and then too much during the weekend.

Basically everyone meets for a pre-party, where everyone gets really drunk on store-bought alcohol, since its cheaper than getting drunk of bar bought alcohol.
