Let's cook! What is /ck/ cooking today?

This has been debunked already by independent fact checkers. Nobody on /ck/ cooks.

The light in my kitchen is horrible to take pics but whatever. I'm making baked ziti, if anyone cares.

That's sad. Can't remember the last time I ordered food or I had a frozen pizza or something like that.

Didn't have ziti so I'm making it with rigatoni.

I doubt you have any idea what you are making, and may as well have microwaved a hot-pocket.

Not being able to improvise/adapt a recipe or change ingredients as you cook if something doesn't go to plan. Do you even cook?

Not today, but last night I made some potato soup.
It should taste absolutely brilliant today, considering it was able to stew around in it's own flavors overnight.

Nice! Any good recipes? I feel like I need to get more into making soups now that's beginning to get chilly.

Sauce has thickened quite a bit. Leaving it to simmer for a bit longer.
I'm also preheating the oven.

Too poor to make meat for every dinner

>> No.14916812

OP here. Btw sauce started with some finely chopped onion and garlic, beef mince, pasatta and some beef stock. I sometimes add wine but didn't have any. Then I've seasoned it with oregano, basil (mostly), tiny bit of thyme and a pinch of chilli flakes. Plus salt and pepper obviously.

I wish I had a deep frier sometimes but then I feel like I wouldn't use it often. I'd love to make fish and chips.
I love Brussels sprouts!

I'm working tonight so the only thin I'm cooking up tonight is my suicide
Real talk though, I might just make myself a chicken salad because im trying to cut down on my eating lately while eating healthier. Pic related is what I made the other night

I grew up poor so potato soup was one of the staples when we were low on funds. It's a definite "look at what you have and toss it in" kind of soup. All you really need to make a good potato soup is roll of sausage, potatoes, milk, broth (or you can use some boullion and water, you just need a liquid other than milk to cook your potatoes down), onions, garlic, salt/pepper, rosemary/parsley, and two tablespoons of flour (it helps keep the milk from curdling due to heat)
My particular soup happened to also contain carrots and corn, it's very chowder-like.

I did two layers with Mozarella, ricotta and parmesan. One in the middle and that's the top. In the oven now.

That's not healthy nigga. Those are some huge cheese wedges. Swap those for a moderate amount of balsamic vinaigrette, keep the grated cheese, and you might end up with something reasonable.

>> No.14917007

>>14916986
Yeah the bad thing with salads is that people just drench it in awful sauces. Vinaigrettes are the best choice.

Forgot to take a pic of the final product. Basically the cheese was browned and crispy. It was quite spicy, so maybe less chilli flakes next time.

Those look nice. I'll suggest some radish sprouts and/or pickled red onions next time. Maybe some cotija cheese and crushed red pepper
