I replaced breakfast and coffee with the coffee flavor like 3 years ago. It filled me up so I didn't have to eat for a few hours (hate eating breakfast and wasting time being hungry first thing in the morning). It tasted okay, if a little weird. But I'm open to weird foods

However, it made me feel really weird. Like it made me feel kinda weak, it had more of an effect on my brain I think than it did my body. My roommate had a similar experience when he drank one before working out.

It was a good experience though because ever since then I've been really conscious of what I eat and how it has an effect on my body and mind. I have tried fake meat and it kinda had a similar effect. Synthetic food is not for me.

I tried a more nutritious clone called Huel because I couldnt be fucked making food for work every day and to control kcal better because counting kcal sucks ass.
It wasnt awful but it also wasnt good. Even at my TDEE I was still very hungry on it.

Now I just fast for 48h and break my fast after work and its all way better. The food I make for myself after the fast is also always way more special than this sludge.

I thought the NPC meme was pretty stupid and forced at first but the more I notice these people the more they really do look like unimportant characters in Oblivion or something.

I haven't tried Soylent but the idea of a liquid meal replacement isn't new. Lots of people with various diseases and injuries are on liquid food that they get through a feeding tube. I've tasted that and it wasn't very good.
They sell what is basically the same stuff but with flavour added and labeled as protein drinks or meal supplements etc. too and that's a little better, but there's still some pretty strong underlying nasty synthetic taste. I think it's the proteins they are adding that cause it.
