14939471 No.14939471 [Reply] [Original]

There have been over 150 varieties of Oreo.

Which is definitively the best, /ck/?

Oreo knock-offs welcome, that adds another couple hundred competitors at least.
In fact bring them all, if it's prepackaged, has got two cookies on opposites sides of a cream filling, it's an Oreo competitor.

While not a particularly special, the best has always been Mint. Arriving originally in 1985, it had only a short life on the shelf before it was brought back in the early 2000s for a permanent stay.

What is it about this variety that makes it stand out? The cream overpowers both the vanilla cookie and the chocolate cookie flavors, making it taste mostly like the cream filling. What's the point?

Both the original Oreo and golden Oreos taste better then heads or tails.

I agree that the addition of Oreo thin variety was a great addition. while I prefer the original amount of both cream and cookie, thins are still good, unlike double stuf which messes with everything and makes the whole fairly unappealing. For anyone unlucky enough to have pic related, It suffers an even worse ratio than double stuf.

and every one of them fucking sucked they arent fucking oreos, theyre just oreo shaped cream filled cookies made by the company that makes oreos.
the only good oreos are the real ones, double stuffs and the old school hydrox bitches.

Macucas (that cookie) has more of a lemon taste in the filling that I like, the taste is not so cloying (if it the right word in English for that) oreos taste too sweet for me, the filling just feel like sugar not even like cream, it's pretty bland too in a way of that makes sense

If your argument is "only original oreo is oreo"
Then I'd expand my question to be "which cream filled cookies are best"?
Oreo has made over a hundred varieties of cream filled cookie. They are not all "chocolate cookie, cream filled," but they were made by the oreo brand.

Carrot cake was good, but not good enough to get again.

The blueberry pie flavor was undoubtedly the best. The Oreo creme wizards somehow perfectly nailed blueberry without using any actual blueberry. they made a 4th of July "firecracker" one that was basically a regular oreo with red-and-blue poprocks in the cream, pretty neat to me. classic is hard to beat, there's something about the Oreo-brand-Oreo cookie that I think is unparalleled, there's a reason it's the classic cookies-n-cream cookie. some of these look nice though.
peanut butter never struck me quite right though, haven't had since I was a kid, but it always just made me itch for a classic oreo, same way a chocolate-flavored-cheesecake just blows out the cheesy flavor and makes me yearn for a classic slice.

I mean granted, the cookie wouldn't be anything without the cream, the cream's the gimmick, the hook that gets you in the door, maybe I wouldn't like the cookie so much if it'd never been with the cream. but I don't see a major distinction in oreo-brand-oreo-cream compared to any other sandwich cookie, whereas, I've never had a chocolate-sandwich-cookie whose cookie stood up to The Real Deal Holyfield, I don't know what it is.
