Yeah but it’s a lot easier to identify in something that’s fresh versus dates which are dehydrated. It’s like with raisins, there’s probably a bunch of little buggers in that shit, but how would you ever know?

>> No.15027199

shit, pass one my way, it's been a few years!

but the food is overrated, I'm sure they appreciated them more in antiquity when food wasn't as common but I dont see any reason I couldn't eat one again for the rest of my life

bacon wrapped dates are good, but freakishly rich, like one and done rich. dont make a platter full of them

Desserts. They work great in them.
You can eat them with tea or coffee. A classic, and great sweet contrast to the bitter others.

A simple classic Arabian dessert with dates is to:
- Pit some dates.
- Melt some butter
- Add cardamom powder, and saffaron
- Add dates and beat them with a wooden spoon until well mixed.
- Mold into cake shape.

Great to spread on top of toast, biscuits, or enjoy with tea or coffee.

Dry them in the oven at 300 for an hour until they are as hard as a stone then pulverise them with a powerful food processor . Youve just made Date sugar. Sprinkle it on you poridge or cakes and you add some uniquely caramelly fruity middle eastern flavours and a healthier source of sweatness to your dishes
