Is it true food tastes better when you eat it with others?

>> No.15116026

No, I find food usually tastes better the next day as leftovers eaten alone. I'm less nervous and can enjoy it more. Plus a lot of dishes taste better the next day.

when you eat with other foods

>> No.15116050

I think it may be due to the fact that either you take more time to eat when you're at table with others and that makes the food more enjoyable or maybe since you're associating that dish with another memory of being with people it's easier to remember and pinpoint as an example of an enjoyable/tasty meal

That's exactly what it is. Some lifeforms die immediately after procreation, because ultimately that's the only thing that matters.

Probably doesn't objectively taste better, but it's more enjoyable to share a meal with friends rather than consume alone

Not at all. Talking with others distracts you from chewing your food properly and draws attention away from the taste of the food.
I also have noticed that other people gulp their food as it was a race and I feel left behind unless I do the same, so I prefer having my meals alone whenever possible

>Learn to overcome the crass demands of flesh and bone, for they warp the matrix through which we perceive the world. Extend your awareness outward, beyond the self of body, to embrace the self of group and the self of humanity. The goals of the group and the greater race are transcendent, and to embrace them is to achieve enlightenment.

No but good prepared by others usually tastes better. Unless they really fuck it up or make something I specifically dislike.
