In Oregon we have Best Baguette a small chain of Vietnamese bakeries. They make the best banh mi all things considered. Consistency is perfect across all their locations, and all operating hours. They're clean fast and efficient. They probably have a brutal goose stepping slave driver of regional manager. Starting at the bread. Its always fresh baked in house and a respectable loaf in it's own right. The special is the only thing you should order. It has mayo, pickled carrots, daikon, cilantro, jalapeno, and soy sauce, pate, ham, pork roll, and head cheese. It's also less than $4. How can other sandwiches even compete?

Do this: go to Giordano's, order the parmesan crusted pan pizza with canadian bacon and double mushroom. No, it's not deep dish, but fuck yes, it is so far one of the best pizzas I have personally ever eaten.

My favorite sandwich is as follows:
Procure some (good quality) english muffins. If they don't need to be refrigerated, they're shit.
Procure some Kerrygold butter.
Proceed to fry the english muffins in said butter.
Add whatever toppings you like.
My favorites are (good quality) ham and (good quality) cheese. Maybe baby swiss, or aged gruyere, or smoked gouda, or manchego.
To top it off, said sandwich must include both (good quality) tomato and (good quality) mayonnaise. A slice of red onion does the trick as well. If you're so inclined, some greens.
This is my idea of a top notch sandwich.

that's a breakfast melt, not a sandwich

>> No.15188243

I love that flavor

>> No.15188257

You say it's "breakfast" just because it uses english muffins. The things is that butter fried english muffins are the best sandwich substrate that there is.

The best Korean restaurant in my city, which both of its most recent mayors visited and have their picture on the wall, has a kimchi pork belly dish that is just off the wall retarded.

I been eating a heap of these recently. The store around here that does the better ones uses a way more coriander than your pic and some birds eye chilli.
Only thing they fuck up is not using pork with crackling.

You're being jewed. I can get a banh mi for $2.50 in Canada despite the meme that everything is more expensive here.
Anecdotal but my friend in Perth was bragging about a $7 banh mi he got from some hipster place. You'd be hard pressed to find one even half that price here.
