Soo I am not vegan or vegetarian but it can goes both ways I used the food wishes recepy and skipped the cream. This is right before I blended it into thik moush and it is brutal. Everything between gravy for mush patatoes, BBQ or oven roust it can be side dish.

Why would you blend your mushrooms?

Should've left it as it was in the first pic.
Then poured over a big crusty bit of bread.

Any way to make mushroom soup without using a cream of mushroom soup can?

>> No.15369557

>>15367859
Saute mushrooms
Deglaze with some nice booze
Add stock, simmer for a while
Add cream

Alternately, you can take out ~1/4-1/3 of the shrooms before the stock and blend the majority to get the creamy soup base and add whatever from there, then add the unblended ones back in.

What kind of booze would work?

Whatever you like, brandy is pretty classic, bourbon has a sweeter, smokier flavor. Port/Sherry are great options. Wine works great too.

>mushrooms are gross
They are very disgusting when cooked. i like cream of mushroom soup ok as long as no chunkies and i like raw mushrooms in salads or veggie trays. Cooked mushroom chunks are dogfood tier

I had some fried mushrooms for breakfast, they were delicious. Started frying them open-side down in butter, flipped and put a bit of tamari in each cap as the top side cooked.

All the mushrooms my parents ever bought were gross.
Half of the mushrooms I've tried exploring food on my own have actually been nice.

I think i have had similar and liked them. Stuffed mushrooms. Dont know what they were stuffed with or how they were cooked. That dish where a steak is smothered in cooked shrooms - yuk. It must be the slimey rubbery texture that i dont like
