>Members have always been told that the hot dog deal is a "loss leader," or an item offered to lure in shoppers. But there is more to it than that. CEO W. Craig Jelinek was told by Costco's founder that the price was non-negotiable. He said, per 425 Business, "I came to Jim Sinegal once and I said, 'Jim, we can't sell this hot dog for a buck fifty. We are losing our rear ends.' And he said, 'If you raise the...hot dog, I will kill you. Figure it out.' That's all I really needed.

Since hormone therapy requires an extended use to be effective, it would be useless to gauge response from one dosage, regardless of one's position on the treatment. I tried to look up the source you had to confirm this, but I was unable to find any reference beyond your post.

Regardless of one's opinion on either of those things, it is more a question on whether the inconvenience of receiving both is worth the convenience of entering Costco without membership.

I pay £25 a year for trader membership, it’s cheaper than personal membership and can go any time it’s open. To me it’s worth it as I save money on things I buy and don’t have to do another 40 mile round trip to another cash and carry.

The company sells a number of products at a notable markdown because they: a.) focus on volume of sales, b.) provide wholesale service to businesses, and c.) charge an annual fee to use their stores. By buying their best discounted products, you basically recoup the cost of membership in savings under two or three shopping trips, meaning the rest is pure discount.

Basically, it's providing the commercial model of sales to the common consumer. The business is making money and the customer is saving no matter what happens, but the business charges a fee to help cover its costs for customers that don't provide the benefit of large purchases.

Also, they used to offer free/discounted membership to those who held certain credit cards, but I think they scrapped that in most places.
