I dont use specific and precise measurements. For the ginger bug I dont go full sperg about it and basically I just add a tablespoon of sugar and ginger every day until its evident that its active (lots of bubbles on the surface).

Fuck kombucha I've been slowly grafting SCOBY segments to my own stomach tissue (skunkworks amirite lol) and now I can digest aluminum cans. It's fermented tea with probiotics. Actually doesn't taste that bad, at least so for the store bought stuff. It makes your shits not stink if you drink it daily and may produce serotonin in your gut. I drank it daily when I quit alcohol and I felt it helped me. I think it has like 1.5% alcohol or something.
