The thing I like about kenji's pandemic cooking videos is that he isn't making a video on how to make the perfect X. He's home cooking for his family. He's using a pantry. You see the continuity between him breaking down a chicken and using some part of it in one video, and the other cuts in the rest.

Pre Covid I liked to cook, but I was horrible about maintaining a pantry. I'd go shopping every time I wanted to cook something. Those vids got much much more organized.

For ex. he went on a talk about how a few ingredients were the basis for many japanese dishes (soy sauce, mirin, sugar, sake), so if you stock those, you can make a wide variety of dishes.
