>vegans
Anyone who supports an ideal with some penchant for morality and “doing the right thing” is inherently a puppet of the person who draws the lines telling you which way is the right way and which way is the wrong way.
For example: I could tell you that by supporting local, decentralized farming within your own hometown is the best way to source your food, ensure it’s not cruelty-based, and to ensure you don’t fuck your diet (and, subsequently, your body and mind). However, this is still following the moral lines I have drawn for you.

The only way to truly enlighten your mind when it concerns food and diet is to come to the conclusion, independently, that growing and producing your own food, independently, is the only way to ever break free of the retarded idealism’s the capitalist market wants you to support (hint hint: the centralized forces in the market ALWAYS want YOU to support THEM instead of YOU supporting YOURSELF).

I worked with a hardcore vegan dude who was all tatted up with vegan tattoos and he must have been at it for 5 years or so by the time I met him. He was anorexic-looking; skinny and what mass there was seemed like bones. He was also really slow, both mentally and physically.

One day he gave himself an absolutely horrific hernia trying to lift a keg. It caused his ballsack to fill up with blood like a balloon. He was in the hospital for months being treated for severe anemia caused by iron deficiency. That was the last I ever saw of him, although I did hear a rumor a while back that CPS took his kids away because he wasn't feeding them properly.

I didnt used to hate on vegans beyond them being annoying. But so were douchey surfer bros. So were loud hip hop shills.
then I took anthropology classes in college. Go read "Raw and Stolen" by Richard Wrangham. It goes over the basics of what we know of early human diets and why they would cook food. The article broke the food down into raw and cooked, and with meat or without meat. Just based purely on a caloric value, any diet that included at least some cooked meat in it would have sufficient calories to make it. Raw vegetables on their own, we simply do not have the enzymes and chewing teeth to base a diet fully around. IF you cooked your non-meat diet you could juuuust barely make it in terms of calories. But even supplementing 10% of their diet with meat would guarantee they more than make it.

Meat is just too valuable calorically and nutritionally to cut it out of your diet completely

I plan to get my own dairy animal soon too. Debating over cattle or goats. Probably cattle since I have enough land to where I won't need to AI. Though there's nothing wrong with it, it ensures good sperm for the mother so there is less of a risk of complications from calving. Also idk if you know this but we bred a lot of maternal instinct out of animals. I couldn't get my laying birds to sit on their eggs unless I had an endless trough of mealworms in front of them. I have also heard small dairy farms will have to cover newborns in food in order to get the mother to give the calf much needed colostrum. There was even a goat dairy farmer who preferred the kids raised on the mothers milk because it made the kids larger.

So you're okay with people murdering animals for your plant foods, okay? You do know 50 billion honeybees died for almond pollination alone in california in one single winter. And human grade crops are the absolute worst if you aren't producing them yourself. And lets not forget all the animals used for the production of your crops. I hope you don't eat rice or coconuts. I mean, organic food requires animal shit, and rice farming and many vineyards requires ducks for pest control.

Also if an insect central nervous system is less important to you, then does that mean honey is vegan?

Lets face it, SOME people in the industrialized first world can barely scrape by on a vegan diet, but to say we don't need animals?

Idk, maybe instead of virtue signaling you should try to grow your own food. Good luck doing it veganic, it's totally possible but very challenging.

Your past convinced me to go for both the regular hot dogs and the chicken rollers from the quick stop on my way home today. The hot dogs are your standard pork and beef minced up fine, but the chicken rollers are minced chicken mixed with cheese. They're pretty greasy but today I'll treat myself. Maybe I'll get a super slice of three meat pizza if they have it too, really "pig out". Haha, that one's kind of funny since the three meat has bacon and pork sausage. Don't forget the beef pepperoni of course. Sometimes I like to eat turkey pepperoni instead when I'm at home because it's lower fat. I have since frozen meatballs at home, that's all cow. I might get some swiss cheese to go with them on a sandwich tomorrow. On the other hand I might pick up some bacon and eggs too and make breakfast sandwiches instead.
I got a rifle this year and moved out west. If I can get enough practice in with it before deer season, I'm hoping to find someone I can pay to give him the gutted deer and get back the horns and ground venison. Other than field dressing I can't be bothered to prepare the meat myself, but I do like red meat once it's nice and ground up.

No. Man gave so little of a fuck about animals and gave so much of a fuck about profit that it led to a toxic form of centralist capitalism (monopolizers) that disregards morality in favor of cash on hand. Further, by forming a disconnect between humans and their food sources (by putting factory farms in the middle of fucking nowhere and shipping the food to cities), it allowed these companies to further degrade and mistreat animals to the point of madness.
What you see is the recoil from this. Man is deciding they don’t want to eat animals because they know a bunch of animals are being mistreated just so man can eat. Read this

Hindus tend not to eat meat (although, your economic status may affect how strictly one abides) due to reincarnation. You could eat a chicken, but what if it’s your baby brother that died as an infant? The only animal that’s strictly off limits is the cow.
Buddhists are more of the latter form. Also, Buddhists generally believe in karma, although it’s a little different than Hindu karma. Nevertheless, one may come to the conclusion that to eat another living creature would negatively impact ones karma.

This is why I can't stand militant vegans. Their all-or-nothing bullshit attitude makes people ignore what the real message should be. That factory farmed meat is shit. Vegans think eating an animal is the same as raping a child, that there is no middle ground. Thats fucked up. Eating an animal is eating an animal, and there is most certainly a middle ground.

It wouldn't take much to convince people to just source their meat from a high quality farm, how to avoid supporting shitty companies like tyson, JB, butterball, and other industries that care more about profit than welfare. They think there is no difference between a bird that lives its life outside on pasture with fresh air and a bird that lives in a shit infested cafo barn. Fuck vegans, they are literally so blinded by their ethics that they are actually destroying the thing they claim to protect.

TL;DR Dude, you can do what you want. Ultimately its your dollar. But if I were you, I'd get a chest freezer and buy a nice wholesale beef from a regenerative farm. It's better meat and you get a shittton of it. Even if you ate nothing but meat you could live off of just an entire cow for a year. Please, go seek out good small scale farmers in your local area. Don't let these vegans coerce you into getting sub par meat. You deserve better.

What? Plants are cheaper than meat almost everywhere. You really don't need a lot of amino acids, read up the measurements on the wiki.
>Also takes far less processing to become something worth eating.
Worth eating is subjective, but objectively meat needs a lot more processing. You need to impregnate an animal, raise and feed the offspring until it's ready for slaughter, then kill it, skin it, cut into pieces, package, ship, someone buys, needs to cook it somehow and eat it. With soy you plough the field, plant it, wait until it's drying up on the plant, pick it, package, ship, someone buys, soaks and cooks it. And in case of veggies you can eat them raw. Seems like a lot less processing going on.

No, they're going to eat goats and eat goat cheese, along with whatever beans and rice and vegetables they can grow or buy from market.

Advocating for limiting meat and animal product consumption is fine. Outright veganism is fine. Pushing veganism on the world as some "ideal" is delusion.

>And then [headcanon]
The ability of poor people to be able to exercise their own agency is a huge deal right now. People are talking about how conventional charity models which don't account for agency often fail because...poor people fucking hate it, and will often refuse help if it doesn't let them have their agency.
>Why?
Because you're a cuck, cuck. If you became a beggar then you'd keep your head down and stay a beggar for the rest of your life.

oh the sweet ironing.
the amazon is being burned to make room for cattle ranches. because livestock, especially cattle, use the most water and land per unit of energy produced. it's been studied to death. you could not be more wrong

That's the dumbest argument you could use. We use technology to better our lives. In the past, deficiencies were rampant, and are common today. Milk, cheeses, even meats sometimes get supplemented (directly, the animal is supplemented always, ex. with cobalt in cows and sheep), we can do the exact same thing for other foods if you really don't want to take supplements separately. You don't need ideal amounts of everything, but it will make your life significantly better and easier. For evolution to happen, you just need to survive until puberty and make a baby, then you can die.

One could argue that technology has made us weak and actually has made our environment worse (aka industrialization of everything destroying our planet)
One could even argue that our overreliance on technology instead of tradition has caused us to actually live less than our ancestors. Maybe we are alive longer in years, but a person who lives a life more connected to nature and dies at 40 will LIVE more than someone who just zombied out in front of a screen and lived to 100.

Zoo animals live longer than their wild counterparts.

>Synthetic coffee now. Flavours and colours to simulate what was. We can sit in a coffee shop, at a particle board table, on a plastic chair, in our plastic clothes, sipping our chemical slurries with pretend milk grown from almond monocrops, fertilized by trucked-in bees because the real ones are nowhere to be seen.
Is this a real product now? That makes me feel uneasy. Impossible burgers are like a stepping stone to lab-grown meat, as well as all these other vegan imitation foods. There's definitely something insidious behind vegan food being focused on imitation of normal food rather than trying to invent appetizing vegetarian dishes like Indians.

"poos" (proving you're a dehumanizing piece of shit yourself) live in a lush, fertile subcontinent covered in tropical rainforests. They have the largest % of arable land of any country outside the US.
And ironically, if you actually did your research you'd realize the vegans there are overwhelmingly the elites. Poors rely on eggs and cheeses for protein. I actually remember hearing a report on NPR about some school program in a mixed-income district in India making their menus vegan, and how the poor kids were actually beginning to show signs of malnutrition due to lack of protein, since they were basically relying on the animal products served at school for protein requirements.

Anyway, you didn't address my point: arid regions RELY on animals in places like Africa or the Middle East. You're a dumb cuck that can't even understand his own strawmen.

None of that is intrinsically the fault of technology itself. The use (or rather, misuse) of technology and our predisposition to be as lazy as possible (conserve energy or whatnot) is what lead to this situation. I personally see a completely different world we could have had, if not for greed, hate and self-absorption that are ingrained in us and hard to break.

I think the real problem with this debate is that you have a different definition of "essential" than us real human beings. Never said a vegan diet on it's own is healthy. You need stuff you can't get directly from plants, but growing bacteria is super easy (especially on large scales). Ever tried making yogurt? Also, as I said, a lot of our food is supplemented as it is. White bread (look up history of wonder bread), milk is supplementd with calcium (minimum), salt is iodized (unless you're in the USA for whatever reason), etc. Besides, lots of people already take supplements, the supplement industy is absolutely huge and vegans aren't the only ones buying them.
