It's nasty, but no one is adding sugar to already sweetened condensed milk.

I've had delicious real shwarma and real Greek style gyros with sour cream based tzatziki and anything doner is and always will be utter crap, no matter where you get it. Canned milk is desert climate or remote location style of poverty, and it's why things like Flan, or Tres Leches come out of the Caribbean or S. America's brigadeiros, simply because canned milk is shelf stable.

Show me known for-cattle farming iTurkey or Syria, or even anything in the fertile crescent or middle east, it didn't happen, so no yummy dairy that isn't yogurt from alternative milk, from sheep to goat. This is the origin of using canned milks and being cheap with it, since it's more expensive.

It's so sweet, I would gag if I ever tasted it again by mistake, yuck, but then again, I wouldn't be buying doner in the first place by choice. Give me a good Lebanaese, Greek or Isreali menu somewhere else instead, even Afghani food, and stop with the abominations for poverty that immgrants made in their shit business to take advantage of you for profit. You insult yourself if you dine anywhere cutting corners in quality, let alone serving processed meat that isn't on a skewer and pure lamb, chicken, or beef.

Yes. Because it's delicious. Though you only add sugar if you're using the unsweetened condensed milk. They sell sweetened that's usually fine as-is.

Everybody's been missing that you mix it with vinegar though, plus your garlic powder. Yes, powder. Crushed/minced garlic would give the sauce a texture: it's more like a sweet dressing.

It's all street food though. Nobody thinks it's some gourmet masterpiece, it's just good tasting carbs and meat. Ordering it at a restaraunt or place that doesn't specialize is top tier retard. Be like going to your local diner and asking for a chili dog.

It's served here in Ottawa. Tastes similar to what I got in Halifax with the sweet sauce. Didn't know about Nova Scotia banning street meat but I meant "street food" as in food truck or low-end leb places that might as well be sold on the street. Also, sauce varies from place to place. I worked at 3 different donair shops in Cape Breton and they all made it a bit different. I prefer the version with a bit of garlic but I also don't like overly sweet things.

I am from the USA so I found donairs very weird when I moved to Cape Breton but it kinda grows on you. I would always take tzatziki sauce over donair sauce if offered though.
