Agreed, though the trick is to make 3-4 shallow lengthwise slices on the hotdog to prevent it from curling up. Also, add a tablespoon of water to the plate before nuking the hotdog.

I like to then put a slice of American flavored imitation pasteurized process cheese food on the hotdog bun (half on each side) and put the cooked hotdog in the bun, folding the American flavored imitation pasteurized process cheese food over the hotdog, then nuke it for another 10secs or so. Top with BBQ sauce and mustard.

I might need a small amount of melted butter to top a dish with or to add to dough. Melted butter is not the same as soft butter. Or I might need to warm milk to room temperature because cold milk may not work for every recipe. Or maybe a part of the meal that I'm preparing cooled down slightly because I had to prepare it first before I could finish the rest of the meal, and now I need to raise its temperature by 30 degrees?

What possible benefit does an oven provide, other than wasting my time? And what if I'm using the fucking oven? What if I just roasted something at maximum heat and I now need to warm something up gently? Just wait 20 minutes for it to cool down, then warm my food there for 10 minutes instead of using a microwave to achieve the exact same result in 1 minute, all because some autist on /ck/ thinks that conveying heat energy to food via means of microwave radiation is for some reason worse than conferring it via infrared radiation?

You must have either no patience or creativity, I guess. Or you're just lazy if you actually have had any of these problems and couldnt figure out how to make it work with what you already have without dropping money on a completely excessive convenience that takes up valuable counter space

I've just made a similar post in a different thread, I wonder what's your reasoning behind replies like this. We all know you're shitposting and obviously none of us are offended. But I guess it furthers a discussion that might otherwise die.
Anyway, back to the article, who the fuck needs to read "if you want your hotdog to taste like it's been cooked over a bonfire, cook it over fire, if you want it to absorb more liquid, boil it, if you want it to taste like it's slow-cooked, slow-cook it". Why is it presented like a scientific article? Why are people not insulted when they read such a thing? These are rhetorical questions, it's because everyone who participates is an idiot, myself excluded.

couldn't you just melt butter in a small saucepan on the stove? I don't own a microwave either and that's what I usually do.

>> No.16166119

>>16166056
I could. But then again I could also build a fire, put the butter into a cast iron pot and suspend it over the fire. The point is that just as an electric or gas stove is a convenience compared to cooking over a fire, a microwave is a convenience compared to heating things over the stove or in the oven. People today have an aversion to microwave ovens the same way that people 100 years ago had an aversion to electric ovens. It's an irrational phobia.

With a microwave I can heat a meal that I've already plated without any extra dishes or tools. To do that over the stove I would need to transfer it into a skillet, stir it with a spatula and then transfer back into its plate. It would take many times longer and require more of my attention.

You also use less electricity. I'm pretty sure you end up saving money over the lifetime of the microwave. I bought mine for like 50 eurobucks ten years ago and I don't see why it wouldn't last another decade.

I decided to go microwave free in 2016. Frees up a nice chunk of counter space and everything feels less faggy. Make sure you have a steam-capturing lid for your favorite reheating pans though.

Holy fuck you must be retarded.
