i didn't read the rest of the thread, but in america our eggs at the grocery store are washed which removes the air-tight coating on the outside. it means you have to refrigerate them or they'll go bad pretty quickly.

elsewhere in the world, the eggs go from asshole to box, and you can keep them at room temp with no problem. although, they would still last longer in the fridge.

I’m an expat, I thought Japanese milk tasted weird at first but now whenever I go back to visit the USA the milk there tastes bitter and smells off. Milk and eggs in Japan taste very different than the general supermarket stuff in the USA.
I’m not trying to be an elitist weeb fagotopoloid but I love raw egg on rice in Japan, but I definitely wouldn’t want to try it with US eggs.
