Tiramisu and brulee/flan are very good, but of the creamy type desserts it has to be between galaktoboureko (Greek custard pie with syrup) and pasca cake (eastern cheesecake baked in a brioche).

Of the sponge cakes you can't beat a good carrot, walnut or chocolate ganache cake.

Of the puddings I like steamed chocolate pudding with chocolate custard.

I know what you're talking about, but I'm actually not one of those shills.
It's just that blizzards are basically one of the only reasons to ever go to DQ, and if you're going to Mcdonalds to get a shitty version of the one thing DQ does right, then you're making a poor choice.
If you're going to talk like, actual ice cream, then any of those places like Cold Stone or Marble Slab would blow DQ out of the water, seeing as DQ only does soft-serve.
Even in terms of hot food, DQ is alright, but gets completely outclassed just by Wendys.

The thing with baklava, kunafe, kataifi, galaktoboureko and all middle eastern syrupy/sweet pastries is that traditionally they are made for people with a very sweet tooth. They are the best desserts to make at home because they are relatively non-technical, simple and you can control the sweetness. Best desserts of all time without the diabetes.

One time I had a huge pile of stuff that was sort of like baklava but more flexible, like sheets of thick dough. My dad did some work round this middle eastern womans house and she made food for some kind of extreme high end catering company. She gave him a huge tray of the stuff, there was a few KGs of it in a big pile and I was eating tons of it for a week or more.

It was one of the best things I've ever eaten and I have no idea what it was.

Because most peoples exposure to it is at a potluck that someone bought premade at walmart.
Fresh made from scratch pecan pie made with pecans you picked yourself is the highest tier dessert. You can't cheap out on the crust either it's equally as important. A flakey crust and fresh nutty flavor enhance the experience tenfold.
