Tomatoes, kale, cauliflower, spinach cost $3 per year if you grow yourself
Strawberries and blueberries are $15-20 for five years. Triple if you eat a lot.
So now all you have to add up is the avocado toast, grains, mushrooms, and cottage cheese/yogurt plus what appears to be a tuna salad

Also, the items on the right are usually bought in bulk/packets and you consume the full lot over a duration of time. It is literally not $X for this fruit because you eat a portion so the cost of each apparent item on the right is actually a fraction less than what dumb (and/or usually poor and fat) people claim.

Not gonna lie, I think the left image actually costs more.

>Gas station cola : ~$2
>Chips : Could be $1-2
>Pre-pack sandwich ~$3-5
>Fucking Starbucks ~$5
>Starbucks pastry I think? ~$5

Approx 16-19 dollary-doos

>Spinach $3
>Rice $2
>Berries $4
>Tomato $1
>Tuna? $2
>Brocc $2
>Cauliflower $2
>Avocado $2

Okay so about $18, but that's also counting the fact that you're getting more than one meal from the rice, and honestly most of the veggies too. And that's not even counting that even an apartment dweller with a porch can grow some basic veggies with minimal time investment.

Either way they're probably comparable in price, and the original image holds true. The left is the choice of lazy poors.

Growing food sounds great until you live in a climate that doesn't like it, or have soil that's poor, or have water that's more expensive to use overall than the food you grow, or any numerous factors. We have no good soil here, its all sandy. There's precious water, I pay $125 for 20 cubic feet and extra for every cubic foot, its currently 35 degrees celsius outside and everything is dying. Not only that, but leafy or top bearing plants aren't possible since the town sprays with a toxic mosquito spray every week.
All we can grow out here is corn, wheat, canola, flax and peas on good years. Fruits and vegetables do terribly - the only "fruits" that work are a few berries anyways.

Can you grow lingonberries? They're delicious but mine died from the summer heat. Cloudberries are another one. Seriously, check out the Joseph Lofthouse link. He's obviously a closeted crossdresser, but he's also a multigenerational farmer who lives in a shitass cold desert, and he has managed to become the only farmer who can grow various types of produce locally (until he shared the seed with his community so that everyone could eat) by using the same growing practices that create landraces of crops in the first place.
Also, maybe you can make a sturdy breed of rabbit and feed it local hay?

Nigger it took me one evening of “work” I enjoyed to put together a couple of grow boxes and 20 bucks for a watering-timer. Got an old garden hose, poked a few holes in it and put it along the top of all grow boxes. Get more strawberries every summer I can eat from 3 boxes in the garden but one could fit on a balcony if you live in the c*ty. Also grow a tiny bit of spices in there too but it’s just cause I like them fresh not for economic reasons.

Zoomers have no idea how money works. I’m not even a boomer myself at 28 but I still get pissed at their retardation (yes actual boomers are bad at understanding the current economy too I know). I’ve looked at prices in stores in America, Canada and Europe and if you wanted to you could get way more and healthier food anywhere in the world for the same or lower price than the fast food places. Notice how the person in the OP picture has fucking Starbucks in there. For the price of one of their more expensive lattes zoomers always buy imagine how much chicken you could buy in a non kiked store in the countryside or bordering it.

Just like any fruit or veggie, for meat the bad parts can be cutoff. The difference for meat is it happens during the butchering process. With wild game though it s easier to lose the whole carcass since without being farmed, disease and parasites are able to take root completely. But now we've gotten down the rabbit hole where hunting is now a good thing too as proper management and culling of populations helps reduce rates of disease and infection.

So what you got in those videos is btuchers showing why meat is being separated and discarded. Big whoop.

It’s mostly Californians and Canadians complaining about prices I have noticed. Non physical industry like IT is great and all but because you don’t need really any land to work it leads to giant cities with no actual production meaning they earn money but need to have everything shipped to them. They become completely reliant on outside food sources so anyone doing business with them can ask for however much they want and they either pay it or try eating their fancy computers. And because moving isn’t an option for them (they view everyone not living in the middle of a nigger infested hellhole) they simply have to cough up he money. I live in a decently rural area in Sweden, 40 minutes to big city but I have smaller stores closer to me and with modern shipping buying things online has nevertheless been easier.
>jobs
You don’t even need to be a farmer to live outside of sities, any job you could do online (programming and such) you can do for the exact same amount of money without having to pay 40 dollars for a small chunk of decent meat
>tl;dr
With modern tech, the internet, cheap global shipping there is no reason to live in cities anymore unless you’re one of the types that want to live in a pod and eat bugs

The fancy computers run the algorithms which dictate exactly how to run your farms, from the concentration of chemicals to the weather forecasting to the systems controlling irrigation networks to the satellite-monitored health reports to the fiscal decisions being made that control the prices for each crop. Specialization is the only way that any country survives, we know this because the only countries that still practice small-scale agriculture en masse are third world shitholes. (No, your peri-suburban yuppie hobby garden does not count)

I know that ruralites hate this, and they have a tendency to treat anything that they don't understand as nonexistent. But like it or not, there is no "return to tradition" anymore. any country which abandons technocentric model will starve or go broke, or both. Now go ahead and tell me how YOUR farm has none of that crap (irrelevant because it is ubiquitous on the superfarms which feed the world).

Retarded city slicker. I literally said “Non physical industry like IT is great“, no shit farms use things from those non physical production places. Stuff like the computer systems for equipment, weather forecasting, advanced systems for pesticides and nutrient measuring, electric meters, taking samples and running them in labs and the list goes on. But you immediately jumped to “BUT YOU NEED THE CITY YOURE SAYING NO ONE SHOULD LIVE IN CITIES AND THAT WE SHOULD RETURN TO THE 18TH CENTURY”.
This is your brain on too much cement. I already said you don’t need to be a farmer to live on the countryside, I never claimed to be one either. While I grow a pretty modest garden, have mushroom and blueberries in the woods I’m not completely “OFF GRID” but I could if I wanted to (used to grow more potatoes and had a large square I grew corn on as part of the property).
To city slickers you’re either one of them or you’re some farmer sitting around outside his brother’s farm shop insulting city slickers’ choice of attire and cars. Moving from the city was the single best thing I’ve ever done, have no idea why I stayed there so long even when work adopted distance working and said they’d keep it.

A human adult can probably get by fine on 1800 calories, that's assuming you aren't doing any lifting. More or less for male/female.
You are supposed to eat about a pound of vegetables + fruit per day to be "healthy" so I'll adjust to make sure we have 30 pounds on our shopping list

56,000 calories in a 31 day month
>4 lb chicken
4000 calories for $5
>tomato
assume you eat 1 a day, 900 calories for $9
>1 lb black bean
1600 cal$1.57
>1lb mixed berries
200 cal $2
>banana
assume 1/day, 3000 cal $5.40
>sweet potato
1/day? 3900 cal $23.40 (really if you're getting 10 pounds of the shit its probably more like $15.40)
>42 ounces of oats
4500 cal $3.50
>frozen vegetables 32 oz
negligible calories, $2.22
>frozen brocc 10.8 oz
negligible calories, $1.97
>frozen squash 10oz
100 cal $1.48
>10 oz avocado
400 cal $3.17
>tuna
100 cal $1
>yoghurt
800 cal $3.47
>bread loaf
1500 cal $2.88
>60 eggs
4800 cal $5.53
>peanut butter
2600 cal $2.94

Total cost = $66.53
Total calories = 28,403
Total fruit+veggie weight = 30 lb (incl 10 lb sweet potato, 10 lb tomato, and 7 lb banana)

We are only halfway to our calorie needs for the month, but have completely met our fruit+vegetable weight needs for the month; however, that fruit and vegetable weight is heavily skewed towards tomato, banana, and sweet potato.

Lets double the chicken, beans, berries, oats, frozen veggie blend, avocado, yogurt, eggs, and peanut butter adding another 19,000 calories for $29.40. Assume we also cook twice a day with about 100 calories of butter each time, or 2 pounds of butter for $8 and you have another 6,000 calories.

This leaves us with a total cost of $103.93 for 55,000 calories.

But drats, we're 1000 calories short! We don't really want to go over budget so we make sure to swallow our boyfriends load twice per day. At 20 calories per ejaculate we yield another 1200 calories over 30 days, rounding out our nutritional needs!

Honestly those are overpriced. I can get a 5lb bag of potatoes for $2.45, carrots are $0.90/per lb, and 80/20 ground beef is about $3.50 per lb. I get that instacart is gonna deliver it to you, but I live near a food co-op about .2 miles away so carrying stuff back is no big deal. Plus, they have a deal where if I'm willing to unload trucks and stock shelves I get 20% discount on anything they have so for about 2 hours of work I get dirtcheap produce, meat, nuts, and even chips and Cheez-its which I love.

You have no idea how farms actually work. And I'm not talking about big-scale large production industrialised farms which don't produce anything meaningful. You have no idea how it actually is in second/third world countries. Normal people there don't use high tech equipment for their farms or produce mass industrialised GMO junk food. You've both been living under cement and plastic for so long that you've forgotten how the world works and how technology is merely a nuisance which only aids in overpopulation. Without 8 billion people to feed, you wouldn't need to even be arguing about all of these things.
Humanity has been duct taping absurd solutions to problems that we've caused for ourselves instead of thinking "Maybe we are the problem here".

I bet you think GMO is about feeding the planet too and not about monopolizing the food supply despite that GMO farmers can't even keep seeds and the GMO companies will sue seed cleaners because they provide a service to their competitors.

>> No.16445999

The "benefits" of GMO is corporate profit and control, they require more fertilizers and more pesticides too. Hell, GMO farming is largely why the insect population and pollinators are being devastated. I don't even have to clean bugs off the front of my car after driving on the highway anymore, 10 years ago or so it'd be covered with bugs after a few nights of driving on the freeway.

And farmers often have to go into debt every year just to buy the seeds and many lose their farms if the yield isn't good enough and then that's just more arable land that ends up in the hands of these profit driven wall-street-traded corporations.

As for where to find it, I have no clue. Just go to yandex and search "watch [movie title] online" and you'll find a streaming site.

Selective breeding isn't the same as genetically modified gene splicing though. They'll take genes from different species or genuses or even kingdoms and insert them into the plant DNA

agreed. the way GMO is used with only certain companies being able to use them and needing specific pesticides(also company owned) is messed up. any GMOs that negatively impact the environment kinda miss the point.

I'm not scared, but I dislike food being coated in glyphosate (pesticide they use) & who knows what else. It's not like they're required to tell you what they use or how they farm/harvest. There have been children's cereals that are loaded with this

Much of the GM they do is making plants more resilient to pesticides so they can just spray-spray-spray. There's a reason so many get cancer & it's often the food. It's really not this big mystery what causes disease but also with that the medical/insurance industry is completely corrupt, just look at how huge hospitals are. You don't get huge hospitals by preventing disease & keeping people healthy, they can't make money off healthy people. This all ties in with the FDA & its revolving door policy, FDA officials often find themselves in highly-paid cushy jobs with the companies they help out once they leave. It's all just a huge racket & the masses get sick from the food then go bankrupt from the hospital bills in the process

There's really so much more & I could go on for days about this, but hopefully I've given you enough to start researching this all for yourself. I've had loved ones die of brain cancer which is not pleasant for anyone only later to realize it was all preventable & even curable. There was a woman who had lemon-sized tumors, her doctor said it was terminal but then she went to other doctors & tried water fasting & they disappeared. The YT video was taken down, but it showed before & after scans showing the tumors disappeared. There's also intravenous vitamin C & a bunch of other ways to get rid of cancer, but while that gets rid of cancer, it's not addressing the root cause. As hard as it may be to believe, stress & how we respond to it is what causes most disease. It doesn't help that today's diets lack so many vital nutrients like magnesium which helps with stress or all the rest of it which helps our bodies recover & lack of nutrients is largely a result of GMO diets and GMO farming

honestly i have to side with you to a degree, GMO in reality is not something that people should support, but people still shouldnt say whether its good or bad in such a black and white manner, theres no reason to fear it just the people using it.

Based posts.

The guys shilling for GMO are either paid or brainwashed; that's the only way you can explain their comparing of selective breeding to genetically modified gene splicing and their defense of an industry which is not only letting big business create a dependent farming industry, but also destroying the environment at the same time. Maybe once they've destroyed all naturally occurring genetic diversity and have complete ownership of the remaining engineered seeds through patents will we see significant calls to try to preserve what's left of nature, but at that point the damage will have been done. It's more likely that the propaganda from the Monsantos of the world will drown out the noise, which we are already seeing.

I get the sense that acceptance of GMO is more common in America than in Europe due to the American reliance on convenient grocery stores which necessitate that food has certain qualities like a long shelf life. This is also underlined by the fact that the US produces more GM crops than any other nation by a wide margin and a part of this yield is for export to nations that don't have their own supply. In many parts of developed nations in Europe, one can still find fruit and vegetable markets with fresh produce and there is a greater emphasis on consuming good food. Comparing legal restrictions also shows a significant difference in GMO acceptance given that as well since a number of European nations have restrictions on GM crops which don't exist in America yet. Unfortunately, it looks like it's only a matter of time before farmers across the world depend on the GMO corporations for their harvests which won't do any service to farmers or consumers.
