This is Bidens alba, also called Spanish Needle. Anyone in the southeast United States knows this plant, especially in Florida.

About mugwort, we have it growing in patches around the house and gather it during the spring, fry it in batter. I was told that I shouldn't pick and eat them during the summer because the flavor would be too strong. Is that really a detriment though?
