Las Vegas or Chicago? Either of these cities a good place to live? Asian food is my favorite. Also love prime rib, wings, pizza (I don’t like Chicago style but I’m sure they have other types), steak fajitas, and bbq.

dont know ive never been to either

You're going to want to go south for bbq and fajitas. Dallas meets most of those requirements nicely.
Just don't go there if you vote blue.

>> No.16643033

I wouldn’t want to live in either, but Vegas is great for long weekends or short vacations.

Vegas also unironically has the best Sapporo style ramen I’ve had outside Japan, since the shop is basically an extended location of a popular shop in Sapporo.

I live in Chicago, it's nice

Good food and reasonable prices, some really high quality restaurants

Just don't go to the bad parts to the south and southwest of the city where you'll get shot

>> No.16643116

I moved to Chicago when I was 19, I'm now 29.
We have good south american food because there's a huge hispanic population. Our asian food is good too. Though, I admit, the prices have been going up for standard food.

I was in FL this week and had all-you-can-eat Japanese food at lunchtime for $15, which was unreal. In Chicago it would be at least $20-25. I'd imagine Vegas is a lot more expensive, and just a little more upscale.

Are houses in the actual city crazy expensive? When people talk about decent suburbs, how far away from downtown will that be?

A ranch house near me is $2m. You can live the burbs and have a big somewhat-affordable house but commute 2+ hours a day

It is difficult to beat Vegas in total. They don't fuck around with their dining. Whether it's pub/comfort food or fine dining the place has an endless selection of highly competitive restaurants.

Ramen Sora. It’s in the Chinatown-ish kinda area; far enough off the strip that it will be a pretty expensive cab. I usually rent a car for a day or two when I’m in town and that’s when I go to Sora.

why do white people love to put mushrooms as a topping in ramen? I know it's tasty but I rarely see it used as an "authentic" topping unless it's part of some hip, limited time menu item in a Ramen restaurant in the west

Ironically, I’ve never known someone who uses the term “flyover” and actually lives *in* a major city.
They live near one. Probably in some shitburbs. That’s why they’ll refer to going “into the city” when they want to do something in a central urban area. Suburbanites need to stop dickriding actual city-dwellers.

Some sites show Chicago as more expensive than Denver, some shows housing is like 40% cheaper in Chicago, what’s the deal? Need to make sure I can afford to go get shot and stabbed.

>> No.16644642

>>16644536

Chicago (and Illinois as a whole) have a massive net outflow of people because the state is so mismanaged and the sky high taxes on everything.

Housing in Illinois has been falling in value for the past couple of decades, some really nice areas have been doing fine and rural has seen an uptick since covid hit, but the state is slowly dying.

If a site is showing Chicago is more expensive than Denver whoever wrote the article has a vested interest in IL real estate. Take it for what you will.

Wow, if only there was an alternative to the Democrat Party. America should swriously reconsider this one-party state plan that coastal urbanites are so insistent on. If it's starting to affect flyover cities we have a real problem

Vegas sounds like it may just be the place to go. World class food and entertainment. Not much more to expect from a city if I don’t need to work or anything. Has good outdoor activities too.
