Now I understand drinking it to get fucked up, clearly that is an actual use for it, but why do so many delude themselves into thinking it tastes like anything other than stale vomit?
You have to mix it with assloads of juice or sugar to make it even remotely palatable.

When I was 18 like you, all alcohol tastes awful to me. It's because the palate of a teenager is unaccustomed to things that haven't gone through the modern "taste good tricks", ie being overloaded with sugar, salt, fat, whatever. As I continued occasionally drinking alcohol the taste became more and more pleasant until I found beer very tasty. Wine and spirits took a little longer but I got used to them too. I love wine and whisky now, in fact I'm an alcoholic.

It was the opposite for me, all I wanted was alcohol from the time I turned 16, I thought it was delicious. If I wasn't broke I would have been wasted my entire first year of college.
I turned 21 a couple months ago and got 3 bottles for my birthday (one from each of my godmother's children, because they know how close to being a drunk I was), opened the first one, and couldn't stand the stuff. Haven't bought any since, haven't touched a drop since. Hopefully it was a fluke/shitty vodka, I'll buy some shit I know I like on friday and try to get drunk.
